The Pope is right, of course, being infallible. You don’t see him tweeting about The Hundred or the IPL. He’s a Test cricket purist, which is why he wears white. But his comments about the Ashes making us humble and smoothing narcissism didn’t apply to Kevin Pietersen
The #Ashes remind us of who we are, which does us good. It puts us in our place, smooths out the rough edges of our narcissism, brings us back to reality, and makes us more humble and open to one another. None of us is God; we are all on a journey. #Lent vatican.va/content/francesco…

You can tell the journalist knows the difference between a man and a woman - despite the confused pronouns - because the man is the hero of the story and woman and girls he murdered and raped mere collateral
He raped an 11 year old and her mother, and murdered both, as well as the 11 year old's sister. And we're supposed to pity him because his crimes were supposedly because of his confusion about his gender identity? And to give a toss that he's "happy to be alive"?

In her speech today, Heidi Alexander said that by the time she left her post, ā€œI’d like to do so having helped to make it cheaper, easier and more straightforward for [people] to access justice". As she's now been reshuffled to transport secretary, I fear she may have failed

This Jewish boxer was forced to fight 76 death matches in Auschwitz. The rules were simple: win or be killed. He survived against all odds, then faced Rocky Marciano in his final fight. Here's the untold story that haunted him for the rest of his life:

In newsrooms you cannot overvalue old heads on the desk who’ve experienced some terrible errors themselves, and who will look at a piece of copy like this and say: ā€œWtf were you thinking? That will not be seeing the light of day, not today, not everā€

I now have 11 months of power over my 17-year-old son that merely being his father does not provide. I will try not to abuse it. I will fail.

As soon as I got out of prison, I asked my English teacher for her hand in marriage, an offer she said no to. A good reminder that you can’t end a sentence with a proposition.

This is an amazing story. If anything, Conor is under-selling it:
This is a very ordinary street of student houses in Cardiff. Here is the story of how it became entangled in an international money-laundering network, a £50million fraud against the taxman, and a bomb plot against a group of lawyers 🧵
