We are excited to work with @StanfordDeptMed, @SmidtHeart, @mghliver, and @KPDOR with the support of @American_Heart to refine and prospectively evaluate AI opportunistic screening approaches for Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic Health! Chronic Liver and Kidney Disease is common in cardiovascular patients, and cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in patients with CKD and CLD. Unfortunately, CKD and CLD is often asymptomatic and most patients do not know they have the diseases at the earliest stage. We previously published in @NEJM_AI and @eBioMedicine that AI enhanced echocardiography can identify CKD and CLD disease, and such opportunistic screening AI can identify cases before patients or their doctors know about their diseases. Working with @AndrewPAmbrosy @ankeetbhatt @LongNguyen07 @traceyg_md @emilyswlau @ATSandhu and other collaborators not on X, we are conducting a prospective multi-center clinical trial validating AI enhanced echocardiography for opportunistic screening. Thank you to the @American_Heart for the strong focus on improving the heart health of all Americans and expanding access to care for patients with liver and kidney disease!
