PLAN TRACKING: Liaoning CSG in the Philippine Sea Sentinel 2 imagery from June 11 captures the PLAN carrier Liaoning (16) conducting an UNREP deep in the Philippine Sea. h/t @supbrow on the spot, it appears that he is faster than my AI/ML Vessel detector 🤣 In addition to Liaoning and her replenishment vessel (a Type 901 fast combat support ship), there is a Type 052 variant guided-missile destroyer operating as an escort ~8.4km directly off the carrier's bow. The group is right at the edge of the satellite image so it is likely that there are other escorts off her stern

🇺🇸USN TRACKING: Destroyer Patrol in the Gulf of Oman Fresh Sentinel-2 imagery from today (June 10) catches an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer operating solo in the Gulf of Oman. The Location: Based on the coordinates extracted by the pipeline (24.172, 62.080), the destroyer ~140km southeast of the Iranian port city of Chabahar. She is near the edge of the satellite image so there could be others east of her (or not)

BATTLE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT: 🇷🇺Corvette Boikiy Devastated (🧵1/2) High Res📷 of the Steregushchiy Class corvette Boikiy inside the Dry Dock at Kronstadt shows substantial damage following the June 3 deep-strike 🇺🇦drone operation. 🔸 Primary Impacts: The structural core is heavily compromised. Asymmetrical shadow depression shows exactly where the mainmast and primary radar deck completely collapsed inward and downward after severe bucking from severe heat. 🔸 Mission Systems: The strike directly targeted the vessel's neural network— likely gutting her air-search radar, targeting radar, and EW arrays Source: @vantortech Date: 8 June 2026

BATTLE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT: Total Economic Loss? (🧵2/2) Moving down the hull, the true extent of the post strike fire damage becomes even clearer: 🔸 Engine Casing & Funnel: Distortion around the aft funnel structure indicates extreme heat from internal compartments, likely warping intake/exhaust trunks 🔸 Internal Spread: Heavy scorch marks along the aft superstructure and flight deck show that the blaze likely gutted internal spaces 🔸 Dry Dock: Noticeable debris scattered on the dry dock floor from midships With the composite superstructure collapsing into the main hull and electronics destroyed, Boikiy is likely a total write-off Source: @vantortech Date: 8 June 2026

👀This is a significant development if thats what is happening!
🚨 HAPPENING NOW — 1st-ever US Coast Guard-Philippine Coast Guard joint patrol challenging PRC's exclusion zone at Scarborough Shoal 🇺🇸🇵🇭 For what appears to be the 1st time, a @USCG cutter is operating directly alongside the @coastguardph in a joint presence operation challenging Beijing's exclusion zone around #ScarboroughShoal (Bajo de Masinloc). 🛰️ Automatic Identification System tracking data from @StarboardIntel shows the USCG cutter Midgett sortieing from Manila Bay on 28 May alongside PCG cutter BRP Melchora Aquino & taking station on the western approaches to the shoal starting yesterday, 29 May and holding roughly 35-40 nm out. 🇵🇭 Also visible in the operation are PCG patrol vessel BRP Cabra & Bureau of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources BRP Datu Pagbuaya (now returning to Manila Bay, followed closely by CCG 21563). History suggests others may also be involved but operating "AIS-dark". 🇨🇳 Arrayed against them is a layered Chinese paramilitary cordon: at least 9 CCG cutters are visible on AIS forming an outer picket line 20-40nm from the shoal, while at least 7 large militia vessels are visible forming an inner cordon 5-17nm out. 🇨🇳 Past experience strongly suggests PLA Navy vessels (not visible on AIS) are also in the area, but will likely keep their distance to ensure no repeats of the disastrous 11 August 2025 "friendly fire" collision near Scarborough. 🤝 This direct involvement by the USCG in a Philippine challenge to China's maritime aggression inside the West Philippine Sea is a significant step forward for the alliance. 🎩 Hat-tip: thanks to friend-of-SeaLight @supbrow for tipping this to @GordianKnotRay!

Many might have noticed that I’ve stopped posting frontline updates. This is because our team - Frontelligence Insight, has been working privately to provide key investigative and analytical support to some policy and decision makers. That said, a major update on the internal affairs of the Russian military is coming soon

27 MAY 2026 @CopernicusEU #Sentinel2 🛰️📷 Clear day of Persian Gulf today 😎 1324 total vessels detected 124 correlated to an AIS signal 476 vessels 150m, detected 14 correlated to an AIS signal GPS spoofing causes AIS locations to be inaccurate and that effects correlation with vessel detections in satellite imagery. Any AI vessel detection tool also has false positives and false negatives. That cannot be avoided. So be careful about stats that just count things. That's easy. Understand the difference between Ship Detection vs Ship Identification. They are not the same. Be sure to know how a ship is ID'd from the available data, especially from day to day. 26 MAY 2026 @CopernicusEU #Sentinel2🛰️📷 Clear day over the Gulf of Oman and also the Northern Persian Gulf 😎 The anchorage off Chabahar has 32 vessels over 150m anchored, including 14 tankers. No ships at the terminals at Kharg Island, but 24 tankers in the anchorage. That's 38 tankers *NOT* transporting 🇮🇷 crude oil 🛢️to the Malaysian EOPL for Teapot Refineries in 🇨🇳. That's a capacity of around 75 million barrels worth about $7 billion, *NOT* funding the IRGC. The blockade has a measurable effect that will be felt in both 🇮🇷&🇨🇳 See the @UANI Iran War Shipping Updates for more info: unitedagainstnucleariran.com… @JemimaShelley @TankerTrackers @mercoglianos @daniel_c_roth @ed_fin @brentdsadler @maphumanintent @MT_Anderson @tom_bike

NSF DIEGO GARCIA: Logistics & SOC Update Sentinel 2 imagery from today (May 27) gives us an update on the footprint inside the atoll at NSF Diego Garcia Fleet Replenishment: The fast combat support ship USNS Arctic (T-AOE-8) is currently anchored in the lagoon. This illustrates a pattern we've been seeing: USNS vessels continue to use Diego Garcia intermittently for their own replenishment and maintenance between runs to the fleet. SOC Mothership: Highly likely that MV Ocean Trader is still anchored in the atoll. Heavy cloud cover on today's pass makes a 100% definitive ID difficult, the included timelapse confirms she has remained anchored in that approximate position over the past couple of weeks.

🇫🇷NAVY TRACKING: Charles de Gaulle UNREP Sentinel 2 imagery from May 26 catches the French Navy aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle (R91) conducting an UNREP off the coast of Oman. Based on the extracted coordinates (16.818, 55.987), the carrier and her oiler are operating approximately 210km east of the major port city of Salalah. This was another solid automatic hit by the new AI/ML Vessel Detector, which successfully flagged and classified the carrier. However, the model completely missed the massive fleet oiler running right alongside her during the UNREP 🤦‍♂️ The model still needs some tweaks to handle clustered/adjacent vessels.

USN TRACKING: USS Nimitz off Venezuela Putting the new AI/ML Vessel Detector through its paces today, and it just pulled a solid ID: the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) operating off the coast of Venezuela (25 May). Based on the extracted coordinates (11.419, -62.187), the Nimitz is on station approximately 75km north of the Venezuelan coast (due north of the Paria Peninsula). I'm making progress with the classification algorithm, but there are still kinks to iron out. The model is currently throwing a lot of false positives on clouds and water anomalies. It also completely missed the Arleigh Burke-class escort trailing off her stern🤷‍♂️. Still, having the pipeline automatically flag a USN carrier in a tile of ocean data is a big step forward. Back to training the model!

If you've noticed me being a bit quiet on the timeline lately, here is why: I've been heads-down building a AI/ML app to programmatically search for naval vessels in satellite imagery. 🔸The Filter: Computer vision calculates NDWI to mask land, then isolates high-contrast anomalies (ships and wakes) based on size, aspect ratio, and density. This instantly drops 99.9% of the empty ocean to generate small candidate lists and image crops 🔸The Classifier: Images are fed to Gemini alongside an annotated visual reference guide (grounded in thousands of my IDs to date). It acts as the classifier—verifying if it's military, categorizing the hull (Carrier, Amphib, DDG), estimating dimensions, and outputting its reasoning in structured JSON. There is still a lot of refinement work to do, but early outputs are promising. As shown, the pipeline successfully auto-detected and classified (almost) elements of the Tripoli ARG (USS Rushmore and USS New Orleans) off the coast of Oman on May 21. This should massively speed up my workflow moving forward.

🚨SOC Mothership at Diego Garcia🚨 Sentinel 2 from May 7 reveals a highly significant arrival at NSF Diego Garcia 🔸Likely spot of Spec Ops Command (SOC) mothership, MV Ocean Trader, safely anchored inside the atoll. 🔸USNS Pililaau & an Arleigh Burke also in the lagoon. My last definitive spot was way back in Nov 2025 off the coast of Puerto Rico. I had a potential sighting on Apr 13 2026 in the Med approaching the Suez Canal. This spot in the Indian Ocean strongly validates that earlier track. When the Ocean Trader slides into theatre—much like what we saw with previous posturing around Venezuela—more complex operations tend to follow. Does her arrival indicate SOCOM elements are actively gearing up for the next phase? @sentdefender

USN TRACKING: Traversing the Epic Fury Blockade Line Imagery from today (May 6) gives us an excellent look at the USN deployment along the blockade line in the Northern Arabian Sea / Gulf of Oman. 🔸Southern Edge: At the edge of the pass is a Nimitz Class carrier with 1x Arleigh Burke-class escort 🔸Center: Further north is the San Antonio Class USS New Orleans (LPD-18) & 1x Independence Class LCS to her west. 🔸Far North: Another Independence Class LCS is operating completely solo, roughly 70km off the Iran/Pakistan border. The northern LCS placement is highly intriguing. With virtually no air defense and no visible escorts spotted nearby, it's a very bold spot to hang out. For all the flak the platform gets, it looks like the 'little crappy ship' is finally out there working the contested littorals exactly like she was built to do 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

🇺🇸USN TRACKING: CSG-12 Westbound & Headed Home Sentinel 2 imagery from today (May 3) catches the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) GSG pushing west through the central Mediterranean. Spotted CVN-78 operating approximately 143km East of Malta, flanked by at least 2x Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. Given the incredible length, extensions, and intensity of this deployment, BZ to the crew.

Look ~13km SE of her... Your neighborhood America Class amphibious assault ship, USS Tripoli, just hanging out (with a curious ship to her east)

I can't tell if this ship was hit by something and started leaking fuel. Maybe this is a us DDG making sharp evasive turns in the Arabian Sea. It measures around 145m. Too small to be one. Lat: 21.62264, Lng: 60.45605
