I don't talk much about it, but I kept the avatar as this for years now. I just want to say to @YachtClubGames again, thank you for making me into an NPC unprovoked. Shovel Knight remains one of my favorite games, one I've bought for friends, one that has stuck with me for years.

This is a real darling of a game. It stood out on shelves from the others and I had to have it. An interesting world in a conflict over a perpetual motion engine. And some spicy fights.
SkyGunner arrived on PS2 in 2001 and quietly disappeared. Developed by former staff from the original Ace Combat team, it traded realism for a world inspired by European adventure anime. Despite selling poorly, it remains one of the purest examples of arcade-style aerial combat on the system, and many PS2 owners have never even heard of it.

Hi, working brain individual here. This game quite literally killed the franchise. If you mean underrated in how devastating it was to Ubisoft's legacy, sure, newish IP buried fast, but I don't think you mean that.
They really looked at what they had and OK'd its release anyway.

A completely creatively bankrupt game. The attack she does at 0:37. A cube sometimes randomly throwing itself in and bouncing off. The dialogue is cheeks, the setting is cheeks, you have all this money and you want to make high fantasy and you make a red guy on fire.

Amazing. Disney consistently refused to give fans anything they wanted, and to top it off, they made sure everything they delivered was poorly thought out and bad on purpose.
But no, it's the fans fault. Standards are bad. Eat the slop. Buy product and get excited for next one.

Star Wars is dead and fandom culture is entirely to blame for it. This franchise was always patient zero for this phenomenon and it only proves how fickle "giving the fans what they want" actually is as a long term business model. Audiences are too dumb to know what they want
