Yesterday in Washington, with my support, House Republicans voted to fund the Department of Homeland Security because we believe America is safer when our border is secure. For months, Republicans offered commonsense reforms to strengthen accountability at ICE, including additional training and body cameras. Democrats refused those reforms and chose not to support funding for border security and immigration enforcement. I made a different choice. I stood with the law enforcement officers who protect our communities and defend our nation. That's why I proudly voted for the Secure America Act. A secure border means less crime, less strain on taxpayers, and an immigration system that works for those who follow the law and play by the rules.

This week alone, @ICEgov detained individuals convicted of robbery, manslaughter, and sex crimes in New York — no thanks to @GovKathyHochul, who is doubling down to make it even more difficult for law enforcement get criminals off our streets.

Today, I presided over the House floor as @HouseGOP voted to fully fund Border Patrol and immigration enforcement. Nebraskans are safer when our southern border is secure and criminals who are here illegally are removed from our streets.

Within the Secure America Act contains language from my bill, the Renewed Hope Act. More than 89,000 children depicted in child sexual abuse material remain unidentified. We have a responsibility to find them and bring their predators to justice. For every child still waiting to be found, this is renewed hope.
