The Coordinator of The Leprosy Mission Nigeria in Kogi State, Reuben Isiah, has raised concerns over the increasing number of leprosy cases in the state, warning that many infections are only being detected at advanced stages.
Speaking in Lokoja, Isiah urged the state government and other stakeholders to strengthen public awareness campaigns and health education efforts to promote early detection and treatment.
The warning highlights the continued burden of neglected tropical diseases in Nigeria and the importance of community awareness, early diagnosis, and access to healthcare in preventing complications and disability.
