The National Railway Historical Society and Railway Age magazine selected Canadian Pacific’s Empress 2816 steam locomotive and CPKC’s Final Spike Anniversary Steam Tour as recipient of the 2026 Outstanding Railroad Historic Preservation Award. We were honoured to be presented this award earlier this month, a special recognition for the men and women who invested so much to make the record-setting, three-nation Final Spike Steam Tour a reality. Relive the nearly 10,000-mile tour from Calgary to Mexico City and back by watching our short film Pulse of the Continent, now available on our YouTube channel.

I am looking to connect with a #YYC based videographer who has experience at shooting highlights from an important gala. It will be a very meaning black-tie event featuring Canada's military heritage with business, military and community leaders in the room. If you know someone who wants to help fund some of these costs, I have one last sponsorship table (sold out event) and would be happy to chat about that with you too :)

CPKC today mourns the passing of William W. “Bill” Stinson, former chairman and chief executive officer of Canadian Pacific Limited. Mr. Stinson passed away in Vancouver, B.C. on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the age of 92. “It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of William W. Stinson,” said Keith Creel, CPKC President & CEO. “Our railroaders, past and present, extend our sincere condolences to Bill’s family and friends. A fourth-generation railroader and highly regarded Canadian business leader, Bill made many important contributions to our railway, the history of our company, and this nation. Bill will be deeply missed." Mr. Stinson first joined Canadian Pacific Railway at age 16, launching a more than four-decade career. He was appointed President and CEO of Canadian Pacific Limited in May 1985. He became Chairman, President, and CEO in 1988 serving until he retired in 1996. CPKC honoured Mr. Stinson’s passing by lowering flags at company facilities across Canada. In recognition of his service and enduring connection to the railway, CPKC recently renamed a location on its MacTier Subdivision in the Greater Toronto Area as Stinson.

An excellent set of insights into Russia's evolving C2 for drones in the close and deep battles from @kriegsforscherD and @RALee85
It is extremely important (first of all for NATO countries) to understand how Russia fights right now and how they will fight in the future (spoiler alert: without so-called «infiltration»). @RALee85 and I published another article about Russian experiments with «drone line» tactics. Subscription, honest opinion and remarks are welcomed🔽 Russia’s Drone Line Experiment: twomarines.substack.com/p/ru…

On Nov. 7, 1885, Donald Smith drove the Last Spike at Craigellachie, British Columbia, as the completion of the Canadian Pacific Railway united a new nation. Today, 140 years later, CPKC connects an entire continent as North America’s only transnational railway — connecting businesses, communities and nations. On #LastSpikeDay, we honor the visionaries whose trailblazing spirit built this legacy. Their innovation continues to inspire us.
