As part of our #CommitToAct Mobility Snapshots 2026 campaign, we have identified that while key intersections have been improved by @KCCAUG and show progress with new signaling, major gaps remain in public sensitization and inclusive design (walkways/cycle lanes) We're therefore calling for: 1. Proper pedestrian walkways & cycling lanes 2. Increased public road safety awareness 3. Stronger measures against infrastructure vandalism Let's make Kampala's streets safer for everyone! #MakeWalkingSafe #MakeCyclingSafe Full report via @ubctvuganda: youtu.be/JgrAFiw-sbA?si=0sMQ…

How old is your house help? Are you comfortable having someone’s baby taking care of your babies – even for a fee? Why don’t you take them back to school, at the least, now that there is universal primary and secondary education? Domestic servitude remains a concealed and intrinsic form of child labour that is hard to challenge due to its nature; it is a hidden and invisible form of labour carried out behind the closed doors of private homes. Domestic work is highly informal, unregulated, and occurs in the private sphere, making it almost impossible for national surveys and labour inspectors to monitor. Also, there is often a cultural acceptance of having a young relative or community member live and help in the house, which blurs the line between acceptable “light work” and exploitative “domestic servitude.” observer.ug/lifestyle-entert…

Colleagues, I have recently been reading, conducting research, and consulting with Acholi elders, including reaching out to the Chief of my Chiefdom, to guide me on how best we can translate Acholi proverbs into simple and easy-to-read language. I would like to officially announce that my article is now out and accessible to everyone. Please take your time to read through the Acholi proverbs and their meanings. I was inspired to write this work as a contribution to cultural preservation and to support and guide communities for generations to come. I hope you will find these proverbs meaningful, educational, and relevant to contemporary life. I am also open to any feedback and corrections. Thank you.

Can the Media Centre also serve as a central hub for advertising government job opportunities? For example, vacancies across various ministries, government departments, and agencies could be posted in one place. Where can a graduate currently go to find all available government openings? It would be beneficial to first centralize government job advertisements so that citizens can easily access and track opportunities from a single platform.

Today, we stand in solidarity with persons with albinism and condemn all forms of discrimination, stigma, & marginalization. Let us value people for their character, talents, & contributions not the color of their skin.

Do not isolate yourself with what you are feeling. Speak it out early to someone you trust or a qualified mental health professional. Sharing what you’re going through is often the first and most powerful step toward relief, clarity, and recovery. #themindnest

Zoka Forest is Uganda’s last big tropical rainforest in West Nile. It stores carbon, makes rain & holds wild coffee genes that can save Uganda’s $800M coffee industry from climate change. With all the above richness, this is the current destruction in Zoka Forest. What a Pity.
