When you’re vegging plants indoors with the plan to move them outside…what light schedule are you running?
A lot of growers default to 18/6 or even but here’s something that gets overlooked:
If the end goal is outdoor sun, your indoor light schedule should match the direction you’re heading.
Running long days indoors and then suddenly dropping into natural spring light can create stress, stall growth, or even trigger early flowering depending on timing and latitude.
What I’ve found works best is gradually aligning veg timing with outdoor conditions:
Early spring transplant: ~14 hours
Mid-season move outs: ~15 hours
Late spring into early summer: ~15.5–16 hours
It’s not about pushing the plant as hard as possible indoors…it’s about making the transition seamless when it hits the sun.
Curious how others are doing it…are you running full indoor veg lighting or dialing it in for the outdoor shift?
