Few things have done more damage to the reputation of elite universities than having professors and representatives of places like Harvard repeatedly showing us on social media how intellectually dishonest and unimpressive they actually are
I have not yet read the full trial transcript. But so far, I do know this. Karmelo Anthony was entitled to a jury of his peers. He did not get that. On that ground alone, he is entitled to a new trial. Minorities are not interchangeable. The prosecutor’s reported proffered reasons for striking all black jurors —that they were teachers—appears to be pretext. Anthony needs a new lawyer on appeal and in a new trial. His trial lawyer allowed in opinion evidence that should have been struck. He also seemed unable to appreciate and counter the impact of racial overtones in that case. Those overtones are clear even on Twitter commentary as folks seek to paint Metcalf as having no culpability in what happened and Karmelo as a complete monster. The facts on how the matter escalated are more complicated than that. He and they had no such authority. They are also apparent in the statements that seek to deputize Metcalf and other kids with authority to remove Anthony. They had none and initiated the conflict. That does not mean they should have been killed but it means they have explaining to do. The lawyer for Anthony apparently did not require that explaining. It is fair to ask how the Anthony’s ended up selecting that lawyer. The trial judge must be disqualified in any new trial if he actually gave an interview about the case before the appeal was considered. He has negatively affected the appeal rights of the defendant. He should know better. He should also be disqualified if he has any relationship with the Metcalf side. In a criminal trial, the prosecution has the burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. The defendant does not have to prove he is not guilty. Those rules apply to everyone. They apply to Anthony.

Jury of one's peers does not mean jurors must be the same race as the defendant. No Black jurors were selected after the judge accepted prosecutors' reason for striking them they were educators and denied the defense challenge. fox4news.com/news/karmelo-a… cbsnews.com/texas/news/jur… dallasnews.com/news/courts/ar…

When I mentioned the lies poured into the black community in America, this is what I mean. This is poison. Straight poison. It comes from black entertainers, politicians, “civil rights” leaders, and even pastors. Poisonous. Poison for them. Poison for the whole country.

“Your honor, this is only his first murder”
35 years on your first offense is over sentencing. Yea there has to be a retrial. This is blatant injustice.
Community note
Karmelo Anthony was found guilty of murder, not a standard "first offense" misdemeanor. Under Texas law, a first-degree murder conviction carries a sentence of 5 to 99 years or life in prison. The 35-year sentence falls well within legal guidelines. tpr.org/news/2026-06-0…

"The cases are different, but because the results weren't the same, it was a grave injustice." Do these people hear how stupid they sound?
Perspective: Rittenhouse walked. Anthony got 35 years. The cases differ—but America judges fear by tribe, not law. newsweek.com/karmelo-anthony…

Let me get this straight: Jasmine Crockett is claiming that because Karmelo only stabbed Austin ONCE, he's somehow blameless? "He ended up hitting Austin one time... two inches. This wasn't someone who said, 'Hey, let me stab you, five, six, seven times.'"

So if Mormons worship a different God then the one in the Bible that would mean they aren’t Christians. There are Bible verses to back up every single Christian point. I believe in the God of the Bible who is unchanged and unchanging.

If you're supporting Graham Platner at this point, you're not really frustrated by the moral corrosiveness of Donald Trump and MAGA, you're just frustrated that the cretins aren't on your side.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) doubled down on his support for Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner ahead of Tuesday’s primary, despite controversies surrounding the Democrat's campaign. “I am going to do everything I can to make sure that Graham Platner is the next senator from the state of Maine,” Sanders said during a conversation with CBS News’ @costareports at the National Press Club on June 8. “When you look at politics in general, there are no saints in the United States Senate,” Sanders added. Platner is facing allegations of "unsettling" behavior toward women he dated, and has also insisted that he did not know a chest tattoo he got as a Marine in 2007 is a widely recognized Nazi symbol. He has since had the tattoo covered up.

His dad makes $30k/mo and raised $700k in legal fees and they got him a public defender. Are you seriously sitting here defending him as a good man? You only strengthened Matt's case. Knowing how much he makes in income makes it WORSE.

I do not lie, nor do I gaslight, nor do I defend murdering a child for the sake of convenience. I don't respect your position because it's purely evil. You and your buddies from 1940s Germany have that one covered. Go ahead, keep on defending it. It's a great look on you. Don't forget to polish your boots and brush your moustache.

Israel and the US weren't even allies at the time. There would have been zero reason for the US to kill its own people in service to Israel. That's an idiotic contention. The recalled planes were due to LBJ worrying about escalation with the Soviets, who had warships in the area. And there were survivors. Almost all of them survived. Have you considered that if Israel's goal was to "leave no survivors" like Massie falsely claimed, they would not have called off the attack almost immediately and reported the incident? If they wanted to kill everyone, they could have. This entire thing is an IQ test, and a lot of people are scoring in the 60s.

One think is certain: Karmelo Anthony had no business being there. He chose to murder a kid in cold blood and is facing the consequences of his actions. Cry harder, “Pastor.” Did your seminary not cover that whole “thou shall not kill” thing?
One thing is certain, had Austin Metcalf not threatened, assaulted, and caused Karmelo Anthony to fear for his life Metcalf would be alive today. Period.

LDS relies on manipulating your emotions. They don’t reason with you. They are not evidence based. It’s all emotional manipulation, which is how it started. Joseph Smith was a charismatic man who claimed sole authority over this revised new information from God. When they say there were witnesses to the golden plates, those witnesses never said they saw them in person. The witnesses said they “saw the plates in their mind’s eye”. Aka: Smith told them what he saw and they could picture it. There are zero witnesses to the plates that this singular charismatic leader used to totally rewrite Christianity and to insert himself into prophecy. Moreover, Mormonism holds salvation hostage. According to Mormonism you can’t go to heaven unless you are a member of the Mormon church. Jesus is not sufficient. In fact you have to “do all you can do” on top of Jesus’ death in order to go to heaven. What does that mean? Well, they have a list that you can find in the link I’ll share because it’s too long for me to copy here. Finally, if you become a Mormon and then leave the church you are now condemned to outer darkness. In fact, it’s actually better that you never became Mormon to begin with because even nonbelievers aren’t condemned to the Mormon version of hell, that is only reserved for those who leave. Kinda helps as a deterrent. And Mormons don’t trust the Bible they only trust the book of Mormon. A book written by one man, who was a known con artist at the time, and who benefited greatly from his own teachings including marrying 34 wives (two of which were 14). No, Christians don’t get Mormonism, because nothing about this faith matches the Bible. Sure, Bible passages are ripped out of context, but Mormonism insists you have to interpret those passages through Joseph Smith’s work. Sure, it uses the same words, but they have redefined everything so they don’t mean the same things. The Bible doesn’t ask you to check your brain at the door and rely solely on how you feel. In fact: ““The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9 Your feelings can actually get you into trouble. As one YouTuber pointed out, a bunch of people FELT that Star Wars is true, which has lead to a church of Star Wars. What about Scientology? Bunch of folks feel that is very true. The Bible doesn’t ask you to live off vibes alone. When the New Testament was being written the living witnesses of Christ, Ascension were still around and able to testify. Archaeology has continually backed up the biblical account of history which cannot be said of the book of Mormon. The Bible wasn’t written by just one man so that one man alone could claim he heard from God. The Bible was written by many different men over thousands of years so that you don’t have a Joseph Smith situation. Mormonism is just fake Christianity. It’s hollow and it demands way more from you than actual Christianity. It holds your salvation hostage. It holds your mind hostage, and if you ask too many questions you’re told to just shut up and submit to the church whereas the Bible can answer any questions you have. Don’t fall for vibes. churchofjesuschrist.org/stud…
Most Christians don’t get Latter-day Saints because they overly focus on truth claims & doctrinal difs instead of the “vitality gap” The message of the restoration lit a 🔥 under LDS to make them more intensely focus on core gospel truths creedal Christians already possessed 1/

Any voting system / process that involves partisans collecting ballots from people's homes is inherently corrupt and impossible to police. And when the corruption is very very obvious, but impossible to prove, it undermines faith in the electoral process.
