Passengers faint on overcrowded train , on a line where they want to put an extra 2150 houses next to it at godley green! Our concerns have been disregarded time and time again by @TamesideCouncil . There isnt the infrastructure! @MENnewsdesk @BBCNews

Northern rail have already said they couldnt put extra carriages on or extra trains because its a single track line and there is no where to store any extra carriages. But we are ignored! But building a bridge between godley and the train station is adequate infrastructure π

I said same at a meeting tonight at #Braintree District Council. Biodiversity Net Gain plans as things stand will not stop the decline of #nature. To do that we need to stop destroying habitats in situ and stop pretending they can be "provided somewhere else".

Godley Green urban extension; sole justification for loss of greenbelt is an unsubstantiated housing requirement; a measly 15% to be βaffordableβ; Homes England funding for private housebuilders; a design code and masterplan that predicts car dependency. Shameful!
How on earth can they βprotect and enhanceβ the evironment by building 2150 houses on greenbelt! They live in a dream world.
How can they possibly create 500 jobs annualy? They certainly didnt answer that at the meeting . Just some incoherent rambling with no definitive answer

Given there is sufficient suitable, available & achievable brownfield land across Greater Manchester to more than meet the Government's housing target, this decision is about GREED, not need!

So @michaelgove @RishiSunak greenbelt is not sacrosanct / precious. A 72 year old landowner has not even been told yet. He says he will not leave!! In the letter ive seen it says the government will leave it to local councils and communities to decide. It had 4000 OBJECTIONS
