The most diabolical thing about watching RFK Jr. speak on autism, is that the Special Olympics was created as a Hail Mary of forgiveness and redemption by his own family, in attempts to right the horrific wrongs done TO HIS AUNT ROSEMARY KENNEDY.
Rosemary was born with intellectual disabilities and struggled with various things, even with help and guidance. Eventually, the Kennedy family caved to pressure, politics, and public perception by attempting to help "heal" her symptoms with a LOBOTOMY for what we now believe was a form of autism.
The lobotomy left his aunt severely incapacitated and forced to live the remainder of her life in an institution in secret for years. She could no longer physically care for herself and was left with child like skillsets. Eunice Kennedy Shriver (her older sister) eventually dedicated her life to helping create programs and assistance for children with intellectual disabilities by creating the Special Olympics.
Watching RFK Jr. talk about autism and knowing how it impacted his entire bloodline is legitimately the wildest shit I've ever witnessed.

All in a dayβs work 4 @givehopehelp!
2day we collected over three moving boxes of feminine hyg. products from the KC Church 2day, w/close 2 200 in attendance @ their annual tea! The monthly free period products pantry was also open 2day, serving 24 women.
