It turns out the younger cancer grows faster (at least in a dish) and has the potential to outcompete the older cancer. This may not be great news for the devil, a case of better the devil you know.

Brushtail possums are the native mammal most likely to be in human contact in Australia and Aotearoa/NZ - protected in native Oz, but a pest in NZ. We sequenced their genes and found many surprises - read rdcu.be/doL74 or watch youtu.be/nAdgClBkiVM for more.....
