This clip, originally from my and Max Blumenthal's documentary 'Killing Gaza', has repeatedly gone viral on social media. It represents the most poignant comment that I heard on America's role in Palestine during my time in Gaza. The village of Khuza'a, where I filmed it, has been obliterated, but the elderly man who spoke so brilliantly is now surviving in a tent. I've managed to contact his grandson, who is raising money to keep his family alive. Please help, if you can: gofundme.com/f/help-get-this…

it's possible empathy is not a sin, but rather a really necessary thing for a society to not collapse

I spent twenty years growing vegetables commercially for the good people of this country. The weather got exponentially worse, e.g., 7 weeks of rain everyday; 12 weeks with no rain, and so on. I know what is going to happen - not because of these particularly bad years, but because of the speed at which things are getting worse now. The reason is obvious - we are standing by and letting the elites put carbon into the air between 8 and 30 times faster than at any time in the last four billion years of this planet's history. So what is going to happen to the good people of this country? If you are still asking that question you just haven't yet understood what is going on here. "If we continue emitting CO2 and methane into the atmosphere and oceans, then we're cooked." @Sir_David_King, former Chief Scientific Advisor to the British government. rogerhallam.com

Shreveport, which Johnson represents, has a total crime rate 144% higher than national average and 62% higher than Louisiana average. Its violent crime rate is 138% higher than the national rate and 44% above Louisiana's. Why isn't the military invading Johnson's district?
Mike Johnson: "I cannot for the life of me understand how the Democrats think this is some kind of winning political message. Yield man! Let the troops come into your city and show how crime can be reduced."

Free-market capitalism creates oligarchic societies that, ironically, restrict freedom for most people. This book by Stiglitz is a masterclass in explaining how the ruling classes on the right appropriated and misused the term ‘freedom’.

In Aug 2023 I wrote about why the “defensive” weapons framing is a PR scam to fund despotic regimes. It was for Saudi Arabia and it, ofc, is for Israel. This is the new pseudo “break” from Israel and it is both meaningless and an obvious delay tactic columnblog.com/p/biden-admin…

This tome of a book is excellent. I've always liked Stiglitz, but wished his books did more academic deep dives. This book does that, presenting the current research on inequality, as well as the corresponding models plus variations. Highly recommend.

One of the most important things I've ever written is the chapter The Big Deception in the Copaganda book. I explain how this propaganda tactic--falsifying the intentions of powerful people--is so crucial across every domain of propaganda. It's vital that people study this.

🇦🇷 Libertarianism = Monopoly capitalism. Since Milei took office, Argentina has lost 15,564 registered businesses, 99.7% of them are small and medium sized employers. The free market inevitably concentrates capital in fewer hands. Marx is proven right once again.

The recent DOE climate science report misrepresents the work of many researchers. Carbon Brief asked those cited to review the parts of the report where their work was used, and we collectively found 100 misleading or false statements: interactive.carbonbrief.org/…

This is an incredibly important paper, just published in China Economic Review. It finds that China’s low-carbon technology exports *significantly* reduce partner countries’ CO2 emissions. China’s clean energy push is clearly helping the world decarbonise.
