The Stop the Manels directory is now on @airtable giving event organizers flexibility to download or copy the list, making it theirs. Today, we are releasing 3 new curated lists - Global founders, Indian leaders, and Black leaders.

This is a huge NO. Organizers ought to be more responsible. If you see a pattern in the kind of people you're inviting (all male, all seniors), do you think it's time to revisit your criteria? Ask for suggestions if you think there are no women you can invite. There are plenty!

Changing your conference gender equity policy to 50:50 will contribute to a change and is something you can easily do. The extra women speakers will the have the invited speaker slot for their track record and for things like promotion documents.
How do you deal with unconscious gender bias? Call it out. Everytime. Maybe not in the moment but don’t ignore it. I’m not sure that ‘being the best that you can and then you will be respected’ even begins to recognise this is an issue #WAMMsterdam#genderbias
