Ancestry has announced the release of the first tranche of British Army #WW2 records. But the records will be hosted by Fold3 so if you don't subscribe to Fold 3, you will only be able to see the indexes to the records on Ancestry.

New map viewer! Historic parks in England 1890s-1900s
We've recently shared our mapping with the Forestry Commission & Zulu Ecosystems to extract a digital layer showing historic parks from O.S. 6-inch 2nd edition maps.

In the 18th century, Charles Hamilton, who was born Mary, married Mary Price. Months later, Price reported Hamilton, claiming she had been deceived into marrying a woman.

As we approach #DDay80, researchers at Dorset History Centre have explored the histories of eight #Dorset men who lost their lives as a result of D-Day.
The first story to tell is that of Bertram Nother, of Dorchester, the eldest of these men, aged 36: orlo.uk/5dsqf
