I'm excited to announce I'll be starting the Kaji lab at @MountSinaiPsych in July. The lab will employ multiomic (snRNAseq, snATACseq, and spatial transcriptomics) and electrophysiology study brain development and disease. Grateful for all the help along the way!

Our new work by @shanshanliu1218 and @gadmark addresses a fundamental question: how does ER maintain its unique oxidizing environment, while rest of the cell is reducing? Here, we identify SLC33A1 as the major ER GSSG exporter in mammalian cells. nature.com/articles/s41556-0…

Thrilled to share our new paper: SLC33A1 is the long-sought ER GSSG exporter, maintaining redox homeostasis in the ER. Huge congratulations to my co-first author @shanshanliu1218 and my PIs @KivancBirsoy and @HiteLabMSKCC for leading this work. nature.com/articles/s41556-0… 🧵 1/9

My lab's first paper is out in @Nature. We show that lipoprotein uptake protects tumors from ferroptosis by delivering the lipid antioxidant α-tocopherol. Surprisingly, tumors use sulfated glycosaminoglycans—not canonical receptors—to capture lipoproteins. nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

Feel privileged to have had a front row seat to this amazing story by @EriDalla @JAguirreGhiso and colleagues focused on understanding the microenvironmental determinants of cancer cell colonization at metastatic sites with important implications for therapy. Congrats to all!
Excited to share my PhD thesis work with @JAguirreGhiso out today in @CellCellPress. Big thank you to @micpapanicolaou for bringing this across the finish line and to all our collaborators, especially @MatthewD_Park @MiriamMerad and @Casanova_Acebes! cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092…

(1/8) Do you eat enough choline? Have you even heard of it?? Choline is super important for the brain and must come from your diet 🐟🥚🥦 Here @Nature we show that FLVCR2 transports choline into the brain and use #cryoEM to show how! 🧠🔬 @pippomancia nature.com/articles/s41586-0…
