I'm excited to announce I'll be starting the Kaji lab at @MountSinaiPsych in July. The lab will employ multiomic (snRNAseq, snATACseq, and spatial transcriptomics) and electrophysiology study brain development and disease. Grateful for all the help along the way!
Our new work by @shanshanliu1218 and @gadmark addresses a fundamental question: how does ER maintain its unique oxidizing environment, while rest of the cell is reducing? Here, we identify SLC33A1 as the major ER GSSG exporter in mammalian cells. nature.com/articles/s41556-0…
Excited to share that my PhD work on ER mito contact sites is finally out at @MolecularCell! Big shout out to @stark2_d to take this across the finish line, and @YatrikShahLab and @LyssiotisLab for their guidance as always!
Honored to be named a 2025 Pew-Stewart Scholar for Cancer Research. Grateful for the support and excited for the science ahead!

Thrilled to announce that I will be joining the Cardiovascular Research Institute at @IcahnMountSinai as an Assistant Professor in January! My laboratory will focus on nutrient transport and cellular metabolism in physiology and disease.
My lab's first paper is out in @Nature. We show that lipoprotein uptake protects tumors from ferroptosis by delivering the lipid antioxidant α-tocopherol. Surprisingly, tumors use sulfated glycosaminoglycans—not canonical receptors—to capture lipoproteins. nature.com/articles/s41586-0…
Feel privileged to have had a front row seat to this amazing story by @EriDalla @JAguirreGhiso and colleagues focused on understanding the microenvironmental determinants of cancer cell colonization at metastatic sites with important implications for therapy. Congrats to all!
I am thrilled to share that our recent study on the development of a metabolic gene function discovery platform is now online on Nature Genetics. nature.com/articles/s41588-0….
(1/8) Do you eat enough choline? Have you even heard of it??
Choline is super important for the brain and must come from your diet 🐟🥚🥦
Here @Nature we show that FLVCR2 transports choline into the brain and use #cryoEM to show how! 🧠🔬 @pippomancianature.com/articles/s41586-0…
Also want to highlight work from @RosemaryJCater, Fillipo Mancia, and Thomas Arnold demonstrating that FLVCR2 also functions as a choline transporter in the BBB!
