Excited for Crashland to finally be fixed. Correcting this one block sends a very loud msg to private interests that @NYCMayor @NYC_DOT will not prioritize their voices and money in designing our streets, which often includes jeopardizing safety.

We've been fighting for the full bike lane on Ashland/Nacy for 4 years, since June of 2022 :)
They're planning to finish the project in July! A key block in Brooklyn's protected bike network.

Also glad to see the Ashland plan includes a safe east/west connection to Schermerhorn!
Thanks @LincolnRestler and @CMCrystalHudson for helping get this fix included.
Hopefully @NYC_DOT is able to also improve the lane on 4th ave south of Flatbush soon too!

The Carroll Street Bridge will reopen soon, and I encourage DOT to open it for pedestrians and cyclists only!
Reopening this historic landmark is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reimagine how we share public space in Gowanus. As our neighborhood grows, we should prioritize safe, accessible infrastructure that serves pedestrians and cyclists, reduces traffic violence, and strengthens community connection.

I stumbled upon the street fair that BAM hosts during Dance Africa, where you see what it would be like if Ashland was pedestrianized like in the DTBK vision for the area. Better suits the cultural hub that the area is vs current car-first design.

We're excited to see this moving forward! Better connections to our bridges are a high impact way the city can improve getting around NYC for everyone.
Will be nice not to have to navigate the crowded sidewalk when approaching from the south.

Great to see work starting on the Brooklyn Bridge bike lane redesign. I’m begging @nyc_dot to please hang the No Pedestrian signs that are on the other bridge bike lanes but are inexplicably absent here. I will personally write a check for parts and labor, @nick_benson @vinbarone
