USCRI had an amazing time at RCUSA Advocacy Days last week, joining advocates from across the country to build bipartisan support for refugee protection, restore critical pathways, and ensure diverse voices are heard by elected leaders. Thank you @RCUSA_DC for creating this empowering space.

A few weeks ago, USCRI spoke with Milagro Sique, CEO of Dorcas International, about why the organization joined a federal lawsuit challenging the indefinite pause on many asylum, green card, work authorization, and citizenship applications. On June 5, a federal judge blocked the policy, bringing relief to refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants nationwide. Thanks to the efforts of Dorcas International and the other plaintiffs, this ruling is expected to have a significant impact on asylum adjudications and other immigration processes across the country. Today, on the World Day Against Child Labour, we raise the red card to child labor. While progress has been made, 138 million children around the world are still engaged in child labor, often at the expense of their education, safety, and future. Building a more just and equitable global economy starts with protecting children's rights. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive free from exploitation.

From Liberia and Jamaica to Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, Nigeria, and beyond, their stories reflect the diversity that continues to shape communities across the United States. When people from different backgrounds come together, they strengthen our teams, our communities, and our country. Go Team USA!

The report is a powerful reminder from UNHCR that displacement remains at historic levels, with millions enduring long-term exile. Unfortunately, far too many refugees have languished in inhuman conditions, often neglected by both the international community and the media for decades. If UNHCR's ambitious goal to cut displacement in half within ten years is to be realized, it will require a deep understanding of the root causes of displacement, along with sustained political will, adequate resources, and collective action at every level. USCRI will continue to advocate for expanding protection and pathways to safety, and we remain committed to ending refugee warehousing.
It's because of war. It's because of violence. It's because of persecution. It’s a heartbreaking decision that 41.6 million people have made to flee across borders to find safety. #GlobalTrends

Happy National Children's Day. Today, we're reminded of the importance of listening to displaced children and youth. Their voices matter. Their futures matter. And the decisions that shape their lives should not be made without them. This month, USCRI will launch Their Future, Their Voice, a new report that brings together insights from child protection experts, frontline practitioners, advocates, and most importantly, displaced children and youth themselves. Stay tuned as we share stories, artwork, recommendations, and perspectives from young people in the United States and around the world, and learn how you can help uplift their voices.

USCRI welcomes today’s decision in the case brought by our partner @dii_of_ri, requiring the Administration to restart critical asylum and immigration processing. This important ruling helps restore access to protection and due process for individuals and families, including those seeking safety, through our immigration system. USCRI remains committed to supporting refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers as they navigate these pathways to safety and stability.

No girl should have to miss out on her education because of her period. That is why USCRI launched Keep Girls Dreaming. Over the past two years, we have delivered more than 1.4 million sanitary pads to refugees in Kenya, providing a full year’s supply to more than 12,000 girls. This year, USCRI is expanding the program to provide dignity kits containing menstrual hygiene products, washcloths, underwear, and soap. These kits offer more than basic necessities. They provide girls with dignity, stability, and the support needed to continue their education with confidence. Your donation can be the difference between a girl pursuing her future in a classroom or staying home in shame. Join us at refugees.org/becomeadreamkee…

USCRI welcomes the news that Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Lebanon has been extended until November 27, 2026. This marks the first TPS extension issued by this Administration for any population and will provide continued protection and work authorization for an estimated 11,000 Lebanese TPS holders across the United States. For thousands of families, TPS means the ability to keep working, keep supporting their children, and keep building a life in safety while their home country remains unsafe. USCRI will remain steadfast in its advocacy to uphold the rights, safety, and dignity of TPS holders and all displaced people. #ProtectTPS #LebanonTPS
