Israeli forces shot dead 7-month-old baby Sam Fahd Abu Hekel while in his mother's arms at a checkpoint in the south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, on Friday.
The father of the infant has rejected the Israeli military's account of the shooting, saying he stopped his vehicle at the checkpoint when instructed, but was shot at regardless.
An Israeli army bullet pierced the vehicle's front windscreen, targeting Sam, according to the family. The father was wounded by shrapnel, while his wife was wounded in the jaw from the bullet.
