The Sunshine Showdown has become a disaster for Florida Republicans. Grassroots voters are being sidelined today, but come November they’ll be asked to fall in line and provide support. @EvanPower, @ViceChairTeague , and @Billhelmich own this mess.

THE PRIMARY IS A SCAM When the FL GOP uses a “poll” conducted by a Byron Donalds MEGADONOR as debate criteria to exclude candidates, the game is rigged. AIF donated $800K to Byron on May 31. Their poll was part of the “criteria.”

Governor DeSantis understands that politicians work for the people and have to earn their support. Floridians deserve the chance to vet candidates, hear them debate the issues, and make up their own minds about who should lead our state.

Governor @RonDeSantis, Floridians would love to hear five words from you: "Florida Republicans deserve a debate". I don't know if you'll ever endorse anyone, but if you called for a debate, it would certainly add pressure for there to be one. As America celebrates the 250th anniversary we should reject the idea of a coronation. The Founders never believed in a coronation. We shouldn't either! 🇺🇸

This has the worst optics in the world for the Florida GOP. The RPOF hasnt even released the exact numeric fundraising thresholds or polling and organizational ones for the 2026 debates. All they have announced is “specific thresholds” for “viable contenders” but keep the numbers opaque.

The funniest (and dumbest) theory in Florida politics is that @RonDeSantis spent seven years so far building a governing model, fought every major battle imaginable, put constitutional amendments on the ballot, appointed a Lieutenant Governor who would go on to run for governor, and then suddenly became indifferent to who takes it over when he's gone.
