Uganda is now the Chairman of the African Peer Review Mechanism
@APRMorg, and this is not just a title, it’s a shift in how governance will be driven across Africa over the next two years.
In this video, I break down what that really means, drawing directly from the recent engagement between
@aprm_ug and the APRM Continental Secretariat.
During his official visit to the Secretariat, Hon.
@AmosLugoloobi made one thing very clear:
APRM must move beyond assessment and reporting to real, measurable impact. This signals a major transition, from producing governance reports to actually implementing reforms that improve people’s lives.
The priorities are also clear:
• Economic transformation and job creation
• Strengthening intra-African trade and infrastructure
• Linking governance to peace and security
• And most importantly, responding to the expectations of Africa’s young people
At the same time, the Secretariat led by the CEO
@APRM_MarieRose emphasized the need for stronger coordination and a unified direction, ensuring that recommendations don’t just sit on paper, but translate into action across member states.
