IEA's #fatihbirol says single most important thing to do this year for the climate is a global exit from coal...
...just as @ReclaimFinance @urgewald reveal UK banks have actually UPPED their ££ to coal since the Paris Agreement.
This is not only wild, it puts capital at risk.

In 2016, there were 324 #coal power plants up and running in Europe. As of yesterday, just 162 are struggling on without a closure commitment.
We are HALFWAY to an EU coal phase-out. And we think this next half'll be out quicker...
Now to make sure gas doesn't creep in next...
