Throughout my years designing software, I think about this tweet a lot. Probably at least once a year. idk why.
When what's intended as a private DM goes out as a Tweet, a simple interface problem becomes a complex human one.

They've got this all backwards. Twitter isn't providing value to these tools as much as these tools provide value to Twitter. They're just giving people more reasons to leave.

Welp. I have mostly moved over to a Mastodon instance. Twitter killing @tweetbot and @Twitterrific kind of ruined the experience for me. I will miss a few peeps over here, but fortunately it looks like a lot of my follows have already migrated as well. social.lol/@bw
