Proud to have been a small part of this fundamental immunology project! 🥳🧑‍🔬 Huge implications for immunotherapy! Big props to my supervisor @IanParish_AU for crafting and leading this curiosity-driven research to success. 🫡 Check out our paper (and Ian's explainer) below! 👇
We’ve known about tolerant CD8 T cells for >25 yrs – but what are these cells?! Prematurely exhausted, stalled effectors, or something else? Our latest @ImmunityCP paper takes a deep dive into this question with some unexpected results, including a link to cancer… (1/)

Definitely an amazing 2 days of immunology! Always exciting to chat with and learn from colleagues and experts in the field. 🧑‍🔬🙌 Thank you to @ImmunoGroupVic for organising this awesome meeting and giving us the chance to share some of our work.
And that’s a wrap! A phenomenal two days of science data and discussion. A big congrats to our best oral and poster presentation winners! Some amazing work being done in Victorian and Tasmanian immunology, already can’t wait for next year 💉🥼🧫

The productivity of elite scientists is largely explained by #collaboration with graduate students and postdocs at more prestigious institutions rather than inherent differences in talent (according to a study of 78,802 tenure-track faculty at 262 schools) science.org/doi/full/10.1126…

Had an absolute blast hearing all about the fantastic immunology at #ASI2023NZ, earlier this month. Also shared findings from my PhD and got a poster prize! 😁👨‍🔬 Huge thanks to @ASImmunology for this awesome conference and granting me a travel bursary to support my trip!

It was such an honor and definitely an enriching experience to co-chair the organising committee for this year's International Research Forum on the Philippines (IRFP) with the theme: "Transcending Boundaries: The Filipino Diaspora in Action" (1/3)

An initiative by @fastcovic and @PAFLatrobe, the IRFP gathered graduate students, community leaders, and scholars to exchange ideas on the lived experiences and global contributions of the Filipino Diaspora. I also got the chance to moderate the keynote sessions and one plenary!

It's in forums like these where a more academic approach is taken to understand the Filipino experience makes me realise the notable positive impact our community (and by extension, our Filo identity) has on the spaces that we occupy. There is so much we can offer!
