Great PSA from an @MTA bus driver for anyone complaining about getting tickets for parking in the #buslane or #busstop. Just don't do it. You're slowing everyone else down, and thankfully you're now going to pay for that monetarily. #nyctransit #mta

I want to recognize the great work of @MTA conductor Theresa Footman, who demonstrated extraordinary professionalism, calm, and humor in last week’s power failure that required evacuation of 3,500 riders last Weds. Amazing poise in a very difficult situation.

Wow finally got to check “get trapped in the @NYCTSubway for 2.5 hours with no cell service, ventilation, and minimal information, then evacuate by emergency exit staircase” off my NYC bingo card.

Over two hours stuck on an F train between Jay Street and Bergen. @MTA , our conductor was great - informative, professional, sympathetic, and with good humor. Give her a raise, have her train others. You've got a talented employee thar deserves recognition.

Many of @NICE4Workers do street vending to support their families. @NICE4Workers stand with @VendorPower & #Corona Plaza Street Vendors Assoc (AVA). Street Vendors are hard-working immigrant workers and driving sources of #NYC local economy. Corona Street Vendors need to be back!
Corona Plaza wasn’t named one of the 100 best places to eat in NYC by the @nytimes by accident. It’s because of the hard-working, mainly immigrant street vendors who serve slices of the world there. What happened there last week was disgusting — so we’re standing up. (1/3)

Why is @NYCMayor Adams administration shutting down this vibrant food hub and economic center for immigrant workers? This is the opposite of what “economic development” should be.
Corona Plaza is a cultural & economic hub. Local street vendors have been collaborating w/ city agencies to add trash receptacles, set rules, distribute community resources & host cultural events But this Thursday, DSNY Police were armed & deployed to remove them 👇👇

Highlighting this because it's important to get it right - stop blaming the victim, the e-bikes, the scooters. "What is killing users of 50 lb. machines going 25 mph are the 4,000 lb. machines that can go 100 mph." electrek.co/2023/07/30/the-n…

It’s not just DocGo— another COVID-era contractor is getting big bucks from the city. And this one got dinged by the comptrollers office for wasteful spending during the early years of the pandemic. My latest for @Gothamist: gothamist.com/news/nyc-vendo…

DocGo’s treatment of the migrants in its care is horrifying. There should be a full accounting of their work and why they received such a massive no-bid contract without any relevant experience in shelter operations. nytimes.com/2023/07/30/nyreg…

If you're a @NYCCouncil member and you get caught by reporters with a felony crime in your driveway, don't worry. The @NYPDnews will help you out right away with some cosplay to rehabilitate your "law & order" image. #Propaganda #CultureOfCorruption x.com/VickieforNYC/status/16…
New: Queens Council Member @CMvpaladino has decried unregistered vehicles and fake license plates. And yet: a luxury sports car with a fake, illegal temporary license plate was parked in her driveway last week. The car belongs to her son/spokesman. nyc.streetsblog.org/2023/07/…

Happy hot humid morning! More corruption, fraud, waste, & abuse by HTA1471, who thinks it's ok to illegally block a fire hydrant. Oh, and look, a history of traffic violations! Someone thinks they're above the law. @placardabuse @nypd71 it's your placard @nypd72 it's your beat

Huge step forward for a New York City with cleaner air, fewer cars, and safer streets 🤩
Breaking News: Congestion pricing in New York City cleared its final federal hurdle, all but ensuring that the first program in the U.S. will begin next year, in an effort to reduce traffic and pollution in Manhattan and fund improvements to mass transit. nyti.ms/3JsBODa

Good news for economy class air travelers: When boarding, if you see an empty seat in first class, you can now take it because, according to a Supreme Court justice, if it’s empty, it’s free.

It's 2023. Transportation is nearly a third of our state's emissions. Urban highways are widely recognized as a catastrophic mistake. There's a ton of federal infrastructure money. And @NYSDOT has no vision, no plan, no interest in rethinking the BQE? nyc.streetsblog.org/2023/02/…

The MTA is revisiting the idea of adding cantilevered bike and pedestrian paths to the Verrazzano Bridge. The last time this was proposed, they included a comically large and expensive ramp from the waterfront as the means to kill the project altogether.
