BYOC is inevitable like I said many years ago. At the end of the day, Capitalism is always going to win. If you build a product people want, that's what will dominate, everything else is noise. The only thing that matters is happy customers in production. When we launched this many years ago, we had a similar reaction to when we first built Redpanda. "This is dumb, etc...", and we made a change in the industry for the better. Which was a similar reaction to when we launched a wire compatibility (first), which was the same reaction to when we announce Wasm (which led to our ai.redpanda.com), etc. These things build on each other. Keep shipping! Customers will choose with dollars, and that will win.
