These diseases are extremely debilitating; for example MECFS has a higher burden of disease than most diseases, yet is critically underfunded.

Many people continue to live with the effects of long COVID. We have a responsibility to acknowledge this condition, to listen to those affected, and to champion the research needed to advance treatment and rehabilitation. @WHO is working closely with governments and partners to translate emerging evidence into practical, effective guidance to support those living with long COVID.

Hard to believe it’s been 50 years since the three of us signed Apple into existence. The Apple‑1 and Apple II were just the beginning, and watching the journey since has been extraordinary. Proud to have played my part. #Apple50 @FastCompany

A horrifying excerpt from my memoir #RebelQueen: Our little journey to Yugoslavia seemed to be going off without a hitch. Then something terrible happened, something I can only describe as my first brush with genuine terror. I had just finished a game at the tournament hall sometime in the middle of the event, and my father, Forgacs (my coach), and I were making our way to the building where we were staying. I desperately needed the bathroom, and so ran ahead of them. By the time I reached the building, I was alone -- or so I thought. As I made my way up the stairs to our room, I noticed a young man close behind me in the stairwell, whom I recognized as one of the spectators from the tournament. I knew immediately that something was wrong. He rushed towards me and held me down in the stairwell, forcing himself on top of me, trying to kiss me and reach inside my clothes. The struggle must have only lasted seconds, but it felt like much longer. I was able to fight him off for a little while, but that only angered him. Before I knew it, he had me up against the rail of the third-floor balcony and was trying to push me over. I remember looking down at the pavement below thinking: This is how I'm going to die. I had never felt anything like that kind of fear, and never have since. But I was lucky. My father and Forgacs weren't far behind. And when the man heard them coming up the stairs, he ran away, leaving me gasping for air on the third-floor landing. I never saw him again. It would have been completely understandable to withdraw from the tournament right then, pack our things and head home early. My father would have absolutely agreed to this had I asked him. Instead, I chose not to make a fuss. I shrugged it off. I suppose I just didn't want to let my father and Forgacs see how shaken-up I was. But I also wanted to finish what I'd started. Dropping out of the event felt like handing a victory to this anonymous attacker. And I didn't want to give him that kind of power. I finished the tournament undefeated, although with only two actual wins -- which was a respectable result, considering that the rest of the players were far older than I was . By the end, though, I was just happy for the whole ordeal to be over. amazon.com/Rebel-Queen-Misog…

Here is the blast wave from the M2.7 CME which occured a couple hours ago. The source region is AR 4392 which is growing and within the Earth-strike zone. The blast wave spreads out in all directions and indicates an Earth-directed CME is on the way.

The High Seas Treaty marks a historic milestone in protecting our oceans and tackling climate change. 🌊 For the first time, international waters beyond any country’s control are legally safeguarded to conserve biodiversity, regulate major activities like deep-sea mining, and ensure fair sharing of marine resources. The treaty reached 60 ratifications in September 2025 and came into force on 17 January 2026. By creating Marine Protected Areas, supporting sustainable fisheries, and encouraging global research and collaboration, the treaty helps maintain healthy oceans that store carbon, regulate climate, and sustain food systems worldwide. Continued cooperation from all countries is essential to make these benefits last. Read the full alert on the Global Climate Risks Platform to learn more about how this treaty is shaping a sustainable future for our planet. ➡️ Read the full alert: globalclimaterisks.org/insig… ➡️ Follow @arctic.basecamp to stay up to date ➡️Help us Speak Science To Power! Last night, at @FrontiersIn' Science House in Davos, we marked 10 years of building something stubborn, science-led, and impossible to ignore. This reel is full of the people who made it real — the thinkers, doers, challengers, and allies who helped push climate science into the places it needed to be. A decade of showing up. A decade of changing the conversation. And we’re just getting started. @rainnw21 @JulienneStroeve @kaimesilvestre @RobertDowneyJr @Schwarzenegger @MarinaSilva @amaliagarcez @wodemaya @billieeilish @davidhik @RobertIrwin @BindiIrwin @TerriIrwin @elliegoulding @GretaThunberg @BorisJohnson @algore @Naokoishii_CGC @KGeorgieva @MarinSanna @66north @BerghausBeNeLux @Reuters @BNPParibas @wwf_uk @salesforce @tableau @DavosKlosters @wellcometrust @GAEA_Core @ucl @ICEARCEU @WeMeanBusiness_ @PotsdamInstitut @moonrabbitmedia @soulpancake @NSF @WoodwellClimate @TonysChocoUS @ucsantabarbara

Progress in anti-ageing drug research for age-related diseases: A review 🗣️"This review explores the anti-ageing potential of nine repurposed drugs: 🔘aspirin, 🔘atorvastatin, 🔘enalapril, 🔘metformin, 🔘canagliflozin, 🔘liraglutide, 🔘acarbose, 🔘N-acetylcysteine and 🔘 dasatinib (commonly combined with quercetin)... This review synthesises progress and obstacles in transitioning drug development from targeting individual age-related diseases to addressing ageing as a unified biological process. Ultimately, the goal is to support a paradigm shift where ageing is recognised as a modifiable condition, enabling longer healthy human lifespans." 🔎

I agree with this as a physician, scientist and a fellow human! 😂 This goes well with my statements: 🧠 You did NOT cause your ___ insert dysautonomia, Long COVID, EDS, MS, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren's, etc. 🧠 You can't think yourself IN or OUT of illness: you're not that powerful. Your thoughts have nothing to do with your physiology, metabolism, autoimmunity and mitochondrial function. 🧠 Lifestyle and positive attitude are important, but rarely causative or curative - unless you're an addict to drugs, food, negativity, victimhood, etc. 🧠 Doctors: stop blaming patients for their illness or lack of recovery. 🧠 Patients: stop blaming yourself for your illness or lack of recovery 🧠 Scientific progress, novel and repurposed therapies and MONEY invested in diseases and their prevention is the only way to solve #chronicillness, like #LongCovid, #Dysautonomia, #POTS, #MECFS, #autoimmunedisease, #EDS and other disorders that have no or marginally effective therapies.
Well, it's been about 4 months now since I've consistently felt 90-95% recovered from Long COVID. A lot of people talk about what helped them recover, but here's some things that DIDN'T help me recover:
