We are advertizing a #PhD position in our lab to study evolutionary genetics of adaptive immunity in humans and/or fish. We use computational and molecular approaches. Topic open, to be matched with student's interest/skills. Come join us! #MHC#HLA#TCRuni-hamburg.de/en/stellenang…
Excited to be part of this huge effort with @evotobi and @MeyerBritta. Here we led annotation of MHC I/II diploid haplotypes of six ape species. This is a huge advance for primate immunogenomics! I am currently adopting some of this for marmosets.

Big congrats to Synne Arstad Bjørnestad defending her PhD thesis yesterday 🙌🙌 think we have come a little closer in understanding the immune function in Atlantic cod 🐟
and thanks to the two opponents for the nice discussions @evotobi and Ilana Berlin 🤗🤗

Very proud to see @the_MRCA defend his #PhD thesis on #HLA immune gene diversity and evolution in modern and ancient human populations! I'm biased, but I do think it's very exciting work! Looking forward to see also his last two chapters out soon! @MPI_EvolBio @UHHBio

Important analysis of the underrepresentation of Arabs in genome-wide association studies.
A few comments.
1. We expect the situation to somewhat improve, at least for Arab Israelis, with the developing Israeli national biobank project. ->

Amazing meeting @FU_Berlin featuring top experts in #MHC antigen presentation and its translational implications. Thank you Christian Freund and Miguel Alvaro-Benito for the great opportunity of interdisciplinary interaction, also for our PhD students! @MedEssen@UniklinikEssen
The #gnomAD team is proud to announce the release of gnomAD v4! The v4 dataset includes 730,947 exomes & 76,215 genomes, which is ~5x larger than the v2 & v3 releases combined, & includes nearly 120K indivs of non-European genetic ancestry broad.io/gnomad_v4#ASHG23 (1/11)
