Saying that you are "pro-Europe, but anti-EU" is like saying "I love my nation, but let's get rid of the state."

When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.

Make him take his morning dump and make it a really good one so that he thinks he’s in for a great day. Now make him have to take another. Now make him have to take another. Now have him take one more. Now make his wife say ā€œoh my god are you shitting AGAIN?ā€ through the door.

Christmas time is that time to reflect and ask yourself what you really want. What truly fulfills? Christmas is a reminder of Jesus and the free gift of forgiveness only he can offer. Reflecting on this reminds me of all I have went through And how he has brought me through it all. Letting go resentment is hard but when Jesus reveals hisself as willing and able, it’s hard to deny him. Hope wherever you are you can lean into this love that meets us exactly where we are no matter what.

With the confirmation that Bill Clinton is all over the Epstein files, let’s replay this. Hey kids, gather around while Uncle Buzz tells you another "Bedtime Story." Grab some hot chocolate, get comfy, and I’ll put another log on the fire. This one is a scary one! It’s all about ā€œBill Clinton and the AF-1 Flight Attendant.ā€ Ā This one truly illustrates the ā€œDereliction of Dutyā€ of President Bill Clinton.Ā  When I was the Air Force Military Aide to President Clinton, I traveled with him everywhere. One night, we were returning to D.C. late after a long trip to Europe on AF-1. We landed at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, like we always do. We helicoptered on Marine One to the White House. We were all tired. It was around midnight when we landed on the South Lawn.Ā  After deplaning with the ā€œNuclear Footballā€ and a few of the president’s bags, I followed him to the residence elevator and ensured he was good before sending him up to bed. The presidential valets were ready to receive him. I headed to my bedroom in the East Wing. I was bushed. I showered and crawled into my bed to fall asleep to the TV. Shortly thereafter, my phone rang, and it was the AF-1 presidential pilot. ā€œBuzz, we have a problem,ā€ he said. "Oh s**t,ā€ I thought.Ā  Apparently, Clinton had cornered a female AF-1 steward in the galley and molested her. She was young, a staff sergeant, and married with children. I knew her, liked her, and she was super sweet. Now, she was in tears and sitting in front of the AF-1 pilot and commander. I asked the pilot, a really good guy, what she wanted. He told me that she didn’t want to be another ā€œbimboā€; she wanted to remain in the Air Force and be promotable.Ā  All she wanted was an apology. She just wanted it to go away. In the time of Monica Lewinsky, Paula Jones, and Kathleen Willey, this wasn’t surprising to me. It was, however, terribly disappointing and sad. I knew inherently that if I, or anybody else in the military, had done something similar, we’d be at Fort Leavenworth breaking big rocks into little rocks. Yet here was the ā€œcommander in chief,ā€ and all he was facing was the prospect of an apology. I was appalled.Ā  So, that morning, a few hours later, and as a young major, I had to walk to the Oval Office and tell the President of the United States that he needed to apologize to the young lady for his assault. Over my years as a combat pilot, I’ve been shot at with hot metal by men who really wanted to kill me, but this was the toughest day in my life. I remember on my way to talk with him thinking, ā€œI didn’t sign up for this sh*t.ā€ I approached Clinton in the Oval Office. I’d arranged for his personal aide to be there too. He was nonplussed. Quiet. But he didn’t seem ashamed or embarrassed.Ā  Two weeks later, on our next trip, we got the two together on board AF-1 in the president’s office, and he offered a very uncontrite ā€œhalf apology.ā€ He didn’t care. He was filling a square and covering his tracks. It was stunningly disappointing.Ā  If anybody in the military had done that, it would’ve been jail, expulsion, or both. It would’ve been Fort Leavenworth. But not for this president, not for this man. It was just another day. Yet another in my experiences working for a man with absolutely no integrity and no moral fiber. Character matters in people, especially our leaders, and in Bill Clinton, there was none.

Does someone like this deserve exile?
Venezuelan President NicolƔs Maduro is willing to step down if the U.S. guarantees him amnesty, removes the bounty on him, and provides a comfortable exile. Source: The Atlantic
Community note
Maduro did not say this. An anonymous source spoke to the Atlantic and suggested the US offer Maduro a similar arrangement to entice him to step down. theatlantic.com/national-secur… x.com/rtsg_news/stat…

Pope Leo XIV: "The supreme rule in the Church is love. No one is called to dominate; all are called to serve. No one should impose his or her own ideas; we must all listen to one another. No one is excluded; we are all called to participate. No one possesses the whole truth; we must all humbly seek it and seek it together." "[W]e must dream of and build a more humble Church; a Church that does not stand upright like the Pharisee, triumphant and inflated with pride, but bends down to wash the feet of humanity; a Church that does not judge as the Pharisee does the tax collector, but becomes a welcoming place for all; a Church that does not close in on itself, but remains attentive to God so that it can similarly listen to everyone. Let us commit ourselves to building a Church that is entirely synodal, ministerial and attracted to Christ and therefore committed to serving the world." I actually think it's a way stronger sign of bad character for Zohran than it would be for Elon. Why is that? Because Zohran, at least publicly, is a supporter of affirmative action while Elon is an opponent. Which is worse? Subverting for personal a gain a system that you simultaneously champion as being fair and necessary OR subverting a system which you believe is racist and unjust? The answer is obvious

Jews will turn new york red to prevent mamdani, mark my words

it is vitally important for america that mamdani get elected mayor of NYC. he can help maximally and swiftly tax the rich, stand up govt-run grocery stores, eliminate the police force, freeze rents, and make public transportation free.. it’s unlikely that taxing the rich will cause them to move to other cities (collapsing nyc tax revenue), or that city-run grocery stores will fail to increase fresh vegetable consumption in the inner city, or that elimination of the NYPD will cause a rise in crime and decline in quality of life, or that freezing rents will drive landlords to dump properties (collapsing prices and property tax revenue), or that free public transportation will result in union-led kleptocracy. no way. i’m sure this time socialism will be different… if Americans don’t want to learn the lessons of socialism’s failures elsewhere, we should aim to learn them here as quickly as possible. let’s make sure one or two cities and states fall apart fast so the rest don’t have to.. elect mamdani! after accruing $2 trillion in student loan debt, that they will never be able to pay down, it’s no surprise ā€œthe college educated in nyc are supporting mamdani 61-39ā€. the current system has failed them. but the truth is, more government may not be the answer when too much government (indiscriminate federal student loans regardless of cost or quality of degree or institution) may have gotten them to this moment. a gentle reminder, though, that an articulate ignoramus isn’t more correct than his less charismatic/authentic political rival. facts, data, truth still stand above theory, innuendo, and bullshit. socialism won’t work. if we have to re-learn that lesson the hard way, let’s do it fast and elect mamdani.
You Heard It Here First. Friedberg's Most Contrarian Belief for 2025: "A dramatic rise ā€Šin socialist movements in the US." According to Polymarket, Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani has closed a massive gap on Andrew Cuomo over the past month for the Democratic nomination for NYC Mayor. Mamdani's chances jumped from ~6% to 55%, while Cuomo fell from 93% to 45%. On June 23, Mamdani surged ahead of Cuomo after a surprise poll showed him ahead. This tracks Friedberg's 2025 prediction of a "dramatic rise ā€Šin socialist movements in the US." Here was his explanation in early January: "ā€ŠMy contrarian belief is that we'll see a rise, a dramatic rise, in socialist movements in 2025 in the United States." "And I think that some industries and some companies are going to be huge winners and some companies are going to be huge losers." "There's gonna be some parts of the economy that are gonna be big winners and some parts of the economy that are gonna be big losers." "When you have this sort of a change this fast, there are often large contingents of people that are left behind." "And when that happens, I do think that the socialist policies and the socialist movements gain steam."
