Today the AfD in the Saxony state parliament caused massive consternation by unexpectedly voting with the minuscule Green faction to pass some legislation about slaughterhouses. The Greens are all freaked out for this unintentional firewall violation. Lmao. Brandmauer psychosis.

I was "Fifth Wave" pilled by my friend @jimwavefive many years ago, but didn't think much of it. He was not the type to preach his ideas, but over time i've started to think of Jim as somewhat of a personal messiah. I'm feeling quite @mgurri -pilled. Elite/Nepos should be afraid.

Sadly true, and impossible to reverse with Germany's green agenda and yap-aholic, red-tape culture. The people at the top of Germany (and the EU at large) are the very archetype and creators of that which they hold in contempt.

Europe’s answer to China is always a committee, a regulation, a 5 year strategic plan and a press conference China’s answer to anything is ship it tomorrow and figure out the rest next week one side is trying to predict the future the other side is building it live and adjusting in real time, that asymmetry alone tells you everything about who wins this century

My heart broke yesterday with news that my closest friend Jim unexpectedly passed away. He introduced me to web3, mentored me through it and kept me in this space with his inspiration. Jim was dedicated to making this world better through the mission of web3. He worked tirelessly at @jimwavefive, but he understood something most people miss: technology means nothing without people. In a space where connections often feel transactional, Jim made himself available to anyone who needed him. He had a rare gift—he could see the best in someone and make them feel like that quality mattered. He made everyone in the room feel important. Jim never gave up on you. When you hit the roughest patch where most others walk away, Jim did the opposite. He showed up. He always saw your human side and would never judge someone by the worst moment of their life. I will always remember you, brother. My thoughts are with Jim's family and my heart goes out to them. RIP. You deserved so much more time and you will be missed greatly 💜

Friends, i have some terrible news. Jim Cousins (@jimwavefive) passed away earlier this week. A small number of his close friends, myself included, found out this evening. As did his family. I personally chatted with Jim more or less daily. He missed our usual biweekly call some days ago, and then didn't return my messages all week. He was always a focused, disciplined and super busy guy. But this silence was very out of character for him. As the days passed, I became increasingly worried for him. Today I reached out to others who had been feeling the same, and we arranged for someone to check on him. Jim was well-loved, widely respected, and deeply connected. I can only imagine there are others out there right now who are worried by his absence. While I know that some people may have preferred to give this some time, I believe Jim would have wanted to spare his friends the uncertainty. I’m not especially active here and I’m not part of every circle Jim built over the years. Please share this message in the hope that it reaches someone who has been left wondering, as i was. The truth hurts, a lot. But being left in the dark can hurt just as much.

We’re excited to be in Buenos Aires @EFDevcon this week to announce our next phase of decentralization with our @eigencloud restaking launch of the DIN AVS.
.@DINBuild has officially launched as an Autonomous Verifiable Service (AVS) on @eigencloud, marking a major step toward solving one of web3’s most pressing challenges: the centralization of infrastructure. DIN enables permissionless onboarding for RPC node providers, network watchers, and Eigen Layer restakers, offering a new way to decentralize and economically secure RPC infrastructure for web3 developers and applications across 30 networks. This milestone builds on years of work from @infura_io, @MetaMask, and @Consensys, combining the reliability of trusted web3 infrastructure with the transparency and incentives of decentralized economics. 🧵

Many thanks to the DIN partners who have been essential to the building, monitoring, and node hosting for DIN: @_0xFury @everstake_pool @Liquify_ltd @nodefleet @ChainstackHQ @ValidationCloud @CompareNodes @nodies_infra @northwestnodes @InfStones @SimplyStaking Special thanks to @R_I_V_E_T, @alt_layer, and @eigencloud for their technical development, delivery, and collaboration over the past year. DIN's AVS is live here: app.eigenlayer.xyz/avs/0x115… @DINBuild will be activating Operator sets and their Lido Staked ETH ($stETH) allocations throughout the week while at @EFDevcon.

And there’s a conceptual convergence forming. There is no difference between politics and religion, emotional discomfort and physical violence, disagreement and blasphemy. Celebrating murdering people for engaging in debate or drawing cartoons you don’t like? You’re in a cult.

There’s a new political divide forming: If you celebrate when an innocent person whose political views differ from you is assassinated you’re gone. Don’t care what that person’s political persuasion is or how strongly you disagree with them. Cant think of one counterexample.

Human beings need purpose. Everyone can agree to this. Human beings are also notoriously bad at creating their own purposes. Hence why people find meaning in work, creativity, etc. When all of these things are stripped away, the purpose crisis will be a biblical level crisis.

A brief summary on how to alienate a large portion of your early supporters in the validator community: 1. Take over a year to distribute testnet rewards. 2. Promise to stake them in the meantime, but then don't. 3. Tell the community that this is now their problem to solve.

Erigon 3 is insane for indie operators and homelabbers. I cant think of a recent client revolution, since the introduction of Turbogeth as an alternative to Parity archive, that smashes the barrier to entry for running your own archive nodes completely out of the park. Most of these machines are virtual ubuntu servers on contested baremetal with 8-32 cores and 8-64GB of memory. You don't need that much memory once your archive is at chainhead assuming your rpc load is pretty low. Time to get an Erigon 3 archive node synced on a 1Gbps connection w/Ottersync: ⏲️ Mainnet archive: 2.7TB (w/blob archive!), at chainhead in 8hrs. This used to take a week on E2. ⏲️Polygon archive: 5.7TB, chainhead in about 22hrs (very memory-hungry after snapshots are downloaded). This used to take MONTHS on E2 and other clients. ⏲️Gnosis archive: 990GB, chainhead in under 4hrs.
