This emerged out of our own foolishness.
The KRG is overly committed to being inline with US foreign policies and general strategic alignment - the USA on the other hand couldn’t care less about the KRG; what matters to them is the military base in Hawler which the KRG fails to utilise as means to pressure the USA.
The KRG also provides the USA with very valuable intelligence.
And I know about the ways the USA pressures us - however, we have provided them with the means to pressure us by being overly committed to the imagined US-KRG alliance.
The *US-backing* is imagined and not founded in reality nor is there any agreement or similar.
