Episode 8 just dropped! youtu.be/k8umwrrYMGE In our eighth episode of the Sport Analytics Podcast (@SportAnaIytics), our host Amrit Vignesh (@avsportsanalyst) sits down with Yeshayah Goldfarb, the former Vice President of Baseball Operations and Vice President of Baseball Resources & Development for the San Francisco Giants (@SFGiants). Over a remarkable 24-year tenure—and three World Series rings—Yeshayah rose from intern to executive, pioneering new analytics systems, spearheading player development programs, and championing flat leadership to unify scouts, coaches, and data teams. Yeshayah shares how he integrated emerging technologies (like @Hawkeye_view), leveraged minor-league free agent signings to assemble championship depth, and built strong rapport with front-office, on-field, and international staff alike. Whether you’re intrigued by scouting international prospects in Venezuela or shaping a multimillion-dollar roster for a Major League team, this episode explores the daily hustle, strategic foresight, and passion that powered one of Major League Baseball (@MLB)’s most successful front offices in recent history. Key Takeaways: From Intern to Executive: How relentless curiosity and “doing every job” can set the stage for career-long success. Analytics & Scouting Harmony: Why building trust and customizing data for each role drives organizational buy-in. Strategic Depth: The hidden impact of minor-league free agent gems like Gregor Blanco and Yusmeiro Petit. Budgeting for Innovation: How proactive R&D investments and being a “first mover” in new technology can pay dividends. Advice for Aspiring Analysts: Gain experience today—no permission needed—by scouting games, honing R/Python/SQL, and cultivating a learner’s mindset. 🔔 Subscribe to our channel for more episodes featuring leaders in sports analytics, career insights, and technical deep-dives! 📧 For inquiries or collaborations, contact Dave Yount (@DavesAnalytics) at dave@sportanalytics.com. 🎵 Music Credit: Intro and outro music for this episode is “Nomu” by Good Kid (@goodkidband). #SportsAnalytics #BaseballAnalytics #BaseballOperations #SanFranciscoGiants #MLB #DataScience #Moneyball #PlayerDevelopment #CareerAdvice #FlatLeadership #SportsTech

Thrilled to announce that I completed a project where I developed a R Shiny app dedicated to analyzing hitter data. I was recently tasked with analyzing a dataset that contained hit level data from a specific game, with the goal of producing visualizations that not only summarized their results but also highlighted key insights in a self-explanatory manner. #dataanalytics #R #SportsAnalytics #RShiny #UI #DataVisualization #BaseballData #baseball #TrackMan #baseballoperations #analyst #rstudio

ARE YOU A PITCHER LOOKING TO PITCH IN THE CAPE LEAGUE? The Hyannis Harbor Hawks are always looking for pitchers at any level of collegiate baseball. We’ve had great success finding players at the D2 and JUCO levels who have played for us and excelled, making the All-Star game and eventually getting drafted. What we have found is many players who aren't playing at the D1 level have been told playing on Cape isn't realistic. We don’t care if you throw 95 . We don’t care how tall you are, what your Perfect Game rating was. Weird slot? Outlier pitch with a ton of whiff? We are in. If you have interest playing in the best summer league in the country here’s your chance to shoot your shot. You must include video, any Trackman or Rapsodo data and collegiate and summer league stats. Please email: baseballoperations@harborhawks.org If you are a Coach or know somebody that should be competing at the highest level of amateur baseball, please share this and don’t hesitate to reach out

Dear @BlueJays #frontoffice #baseballoperations #manager your pitching decisions have sucker punched you & sucked the life out of Canadians. Dear #BlueJays team/players - you can do this. Down by 2 & really should make it a habit to score more than 2 per playoff game anyways #mlb

Honestly I’m just glad @LWorthySports & @anne__rogers asked the bunting questions. They’re the voice for the fans & they did their jobs. To a smaller degree, it helps create accountability, too - which this organization clearly doesn’t value to a high level in baseballoperations

Boomer Most new owners do, but I expect Cohen to add a new VP/BaseballOperations for BVW to report to and take away his power to make meh trades.

Given my aspirations to work in Baseball Operations or Data Analytics in affiliation with an MLB organization, I thought I would write an article giving a 2-3 sentence overview of every team's biggest need during the offseason. #baseball #baseballoperations #analytics #mlb
