Learning GraphQL is teaching me something bigger than writing queries. The real skill is learning how to ask the right questions from the data I explored wallet analysis with Bitquery and started thinking less about "how to query" and more about what activity am I investigating

You're right but slow selling is still the correct move Mint during bear, sell during bull when there's volume to give camouflage. You extract daily below 25k ZEC which Bitquery said is daily fluctuation A raid most likely didn't happen, but can't rule out a slow sell either

In my website I have details regarding what works in quantitative trading and what doesn’t. I also have an article on DEX traded coins, I recommend reading although it’s getting a huge update soon with the support of Coingecko and Bitquery

Gm fam Week recap on ApeFax. This wasn’t a “ship more features” week. It was a “stop and make the whole thing defensible” week. Early in the week I merged five PRs to master. Bitquery fixes, price authority, wash guards, GraphQL migration, content branch. Solid work, but still surface. By Friday the real work showed up.

"Should we just run cardano-db-sync?" Every Cardano engineer asks this when their team proposes Bitquery. Here is the honest answer we give them. The case FOR db-sync is real. Sub-50ms latency on private queries. Full control over the Postgres schema. The ability to run analytical queries Bitquery does not expose. The case AGAINST is also real. Around 600 GB of disk and growing. Multi-day initial sync from genesis. Schema migrations on every Cardano protocol upgrade. HA, monitoring, backup, and on-call all sit with your team. The decision usually comes down to one question. What does your team actually use the data for? If the workload is balances, deposit detection, withdrawal reconciliation, and per-user reward statements (the four workloads every custodial Cardano product needs), Bitquery covers all four with cached reads that cost zero points on repeat polls. You ship in a weekend. The two engineers you would have hired to operate the node fleet build the product instead. If the workload is high-frequency private analytics or a custom indexed schema your product depends on, db-sync wins. Run it. Most teams who ask us this question land in the first bucket. They just have not priced the second-team-for-infra cost yet. Three pieces that show the actual queries and architecture, each with a Bitquery vs db-sync section sized to the specific workload: → Polling Cardano stake and reward balances at scale bitquery.io/blog/polling-car… → How to detect Cardano deposits without running a full node bitquery.io/blog/how-to-dete… → Tracking per-user ADA staking rewards for tax and accounting bitquery.io/blog/tracking-pe… If you are the engineer being asked this question this week, these are the three pieces to send back to your CTO.

Here are seven strong DexScreener API alternatives for on‑chain DEX data in 2026, with a focus on swaps, pools, and token analytics.coinmarketcap 3 Top 7 DexScreener API Alternatives 1. CoinGecko API (with GeckoTerminal) Broadest onchain DEX coverage via GeckoTerminal (24M tokens, 1.7K DEXs, 250 networks).hydragon Endpoints for token prices, pools, DEX trades, plus WebSocket streaming on higher tiers.hydragon Good if you want one API for prices onchain DEX data; paid plans from ~35 USD/month, full historical on Analyst tier.hydragon 2. CoinMarketCap API Large coverage of spot, derivatives, and DEX markets, positioned in 2026 as one of the main “on-chain DEX data APIs for developers.”coinmarketcap REST endpoints for OHLCV, market pairs, order books, and listings; good for cross‑comparing CEX and DEX liquidity.coinmarketcap Suited if you already rely on CoinMarketCap metrics and want to add onchain data without changing provider.coinmarketcap 3. Moralis Streams & Data API Marketed explicitly as a “free DEXScreener API alternative” with richer onchain data (token, pair, transfers, swaps, liquidity changes).moralis Supports multi‑chain EVM data, event indexing, and real‑time webhook streams, which is ideal for trading dashboards and bots.moralis Good if you need infra‑style access (indexing webhooks) rather than just a passive price API.moralis 4. Bitquery GraphQL‑based data access to raw blockchain transactions, logs, and DEX events; recommended for “advanced analytical use cases” in 2026.hydragon Good for custom queries (per‑pair swaps, per‑wallet flow, MEV/mempool analysis) rather than just price snapshots.hydragon Fits quants/researchers who want to build their own models from transaction‑level data.hydragon 5. Birdeye (Solana‑centric) Popular community alternative when DexScreener is too limited, especially for Solana trading dashboards.reddit Focused DEX data: pools, swaps, volume, price, and token metrics on Solana; often integrated into Solana trading tools.reddit Strong choice if your main flow is Solana / memecoins and you need deep ecosystem‑specific coverage.reddit 6. DefiLlama Data API Community‑driven DeFi analytics platform with TVL, DEX volume, and protocol metrics across many chains.reddit API widely used to pull DEX volume, fees, and liquidity data across ecosystems for dashboards and research.reddit Good as a macro‑DeFi layer (per‑DEX/per‑chain stats) to complement more granular swap‑level data from another provider.reddit 7. Jupiter / Other Chain‑Native DEX APIs Jupiter API (Solana routing/aggregator) is frequently mentioned as an alternative when building Solana trading analytics and bots.reddit Chain‑native aggregator or DEX APIs (e.g., Jupiter for Solana, chain‑specific routers) expose pools, route quotes, and swap histories for their ecosystem.reddit Best when you optimize execution/quotes on a specific chain and can tolerate ecosystem lock‑in.reddit Quick Feature Snapshot ProviderMain strengthGood for ProviderMain strengthGood forCoinGeckoMassive multi‑chain DEX coverage hydragonGeneralist DEX analyticsCoinMarketCapCEX DEX market data in one API coinmarketcapMixed CEX/DEX dashboardsMoralisIndexed onchain data streams moralisBots, alerts, infra‑style appsBitqueryGraphQL over raw tx/logs hydragonDeep research & custom queriesBirdeyeSolana DEX focus redditSolana trading toolsDefiLlamaDeFi TVL volume metrics redditMacro DeFi analyticsJupiter / native APIsChain‑specific swap/route data redditExecution‑focused tooling If you tell me your exact stack (chains, langs, and whether you need WebSockets or just REST), I can rank these 7 specifically for your use case and suggest concrete endpoints to hit.
