I have spent this past week completing the APMG Change Management, foundation and practitioner course. Although it was a heavy week it was a fabulous course. I have now achieved my first internationally recognised qualification in change managementšŸ˜šŸ™Œ #civilservicelearning

There is still some real political news hiding in all this party mess; don’t miss this letter of direction on NHS spending. Really significant. @guardian #civilservicelearning

7. This, by @jamestplunkett, was one of the more hopeful things I've read about policy this year. Lots of thoughtful ideas that go beyond the tired debates that we keep having and beyond traditional political dichotomies.

See also why it’s fun to try and do a customer journey map; then stand back while policy makers realise all the stuff they don’t know! #Civilservicelearning

Yup... beautiful diagram as ever @timd_IFG This is why those of us running cross Gov events Mar-Aug were somewhat ā€˜frazzled’ ( homeschool x3 I was unsympathetic to teachers saying it was hard to transfer to elearning on ONE unfamiliar platform) #Civilservicelearning

And like many people across the country, civil servants were working from home – which wasn’t easy at first, as they couldn’t all talk to each other. It wasn’t until July that all departments had access to the same software #IFGWM21

This is brilliant - not a ā€˜journey’ but #complex system from the users point of view. Justice always been ahead in this way of thinking; the brilliant work by Prof Hazel Genn inspired me at beginning of my career. #Civilservicelearning #mapping #policyskills #systemsthinking

Thanks - literally the curriculum from #civilservicelearning so I can’t really take credit, but there’s often a bit of a gap between theory & practice!

There’s a reason the policy Venn diagram is at the heart of #policyskills #training - doing one thing well is really easy, but misses the point: you really do have to have it all! #Civilservicelearning pashleyfisher.co.uk/policysk…

Busting the Myth of Future Proofing today. There’s lots we do know & lots we can do better, but acknowledging the limitations of the possible & working within them is crucial for successful #policy making. #Civilservicelearning #policyskills

Great thread>> I note the crossover between #policy making and #designthinking, how in some places they are now synonymous, and how both are weakened by ignoring the #complexity of the questions that we apply the tools to. #Civilservicelearning
One irony of course being that design research originally saw design thinking as a tacit competency or disposition expert designers developed with practice, *not* a rational step-by-step process b/c the wicked problems design tames defy rational linear processes.
