It was great to meet and get an update on the work of the @ClimateActionMB. I’m looking forward to hearing more in the future about rural transit planning in Manitoba.

I'm all for this. Every work day, I drive past three school zones, and through an area full of people with substance abuse, and mental health issues who can wander into the road. I also have other drivers furiously speed around me, livid that I dare to drive at the speed limit.

Winnipeg's discretionary carbon footprint is virtually nil. Manitoba is carbon neutral. Relax.

Would be simpler if you and every other person who supports this stop driving immediately.

I can’t wait until the engineering report drops in the fall recommending they lower st Mary’s, pembina and Henderson to 50 and all these losers come out of the wood work to advocate for their right to kill people to get Timmies faster

100% in agreement. Would love some speed bumps as well. On my street people drive 70 regularly, it's nuts.

Default 30 would be on residential roads. The current Default is 50.

Default 30 on all roads!? Would be an absolute nightmare. I suspect there'd be an uptick in dangerous drivers/accidents from people who would not adhere to it. 30 is fine on narrow roads, 40/45 on busier streets, and 50/60 for main/major roads. Spd bumps on residential streets.

If #Winnipeg wants to get serious about addressing the #ClimateEmergency, we need to get busy implementing a default 30kmh speed limit! @JaniceLukes @ScottGillingham @WabKinew @ClimateActionMB @GreenActionCtr #wpgpoli #mbpoli
Very happy to publish the first ever scientific review of city-wide #30kmh speed limit benefits in Europe. Evaluation results from 40 cities revealed that 30 km/h speed limit led to significant reductions in fatalities, emissions and fuel consumption. nrso.ntua.gr/review-of-city-…
