The workshop focused on incentives for environmental practices and carbon farming, exploring the latest developments in European regulations, the role of carbon farming within the CAP, and different compensation mechanisms supporting the transition towards more sustainable agricultural systems. Today, Southern Voice and the @IDS_UK convened the inaugural meeting of the ACT4Equity Funders Community of Practice, bringing together a diverse group of funding organisations committed to advancing equity in research for development. The session created a space for open and honest exchange about the realities of funding practices, power dynamics, and the challenges of translating principles into action. Building on ongoing work in Equity in Research for Development, discussions explored how a Community of Practice can support collective learning and co-creation of practical lessons and tools. A clear message emerged: advancing equity in research requires sustained collaboration, transparency, and a willingness to test, learn, and adapt together. The Community of Practice was recognised as a critical space to support this journey. As next steps, participants expressed interest in engaging in working groups and continuing the dialogue through regular exchanges. The meeting provided an opportunity to share concrete results in promoting and implementing regenerative practices across their respective institutions and sectors. From educational programmes to demonstration farms, the Alliance’s activities are steadily expanding across Serbia. At the same time, key challenges and open questions were highlighted: • Limited systemic support for farmers transitioning to regenerative agriculture • Barriers to accessing financial resources • The need to strengthen public awareness of soil health • What regenerative agriculture means in the local context • How to define and verify regenerative practices • Which actors are essential to drive systemic change Moving forward, collaboration will be essential to turn this momentum into lasting impact and to better support farmers in their transition. #SoilValues #RegenerativeAgriculture #SoilHealth #CommunityOfPractice

Earlier today, in collaboration with the @RwandaBankers, we convened the Q1 2026 ESG Community of Practice, bringing together stakeholders from FIs, Central Bank, GiZ, and IFC to reflect on progress and advance ESG integration across Rwanda’s banking sector. Discussions highlighted the shift from compliance to embedding ESG in risk management, products & reporting, positioning it as a key driver of sustainable growth. Challenges like data gaps & capacity needs were addressed, while reinforcing collaboration across the ecosystem. Last Friday, 23rd January, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Community of Practice (CoP) held its first official meeting for 2026 under the African–European Innovation Platform (AEIP).
