I have been made aware of the US DoD's computer modeling of the defense of Taiwan and of war with China. In both cases, the only surviving deployed US weapon's systems are nuclear subs. If they withdraw, China wins. If they engage, the world loses. The US knows that its aircraft carrier battle groups cannot be positioned close enough to deploy aircraft without suffering catastrophic losses in the first day. I love Taiwan and the Taiwanese, having done hundreds of millions of dollars in business with them on handshakes. They are among the best of the best. I was also among the first to enter China after it became legal to do so. I returned a decade later to build factories in the first Enterprise Zones. So I know the Chinese, too.
