Six years ago, the Master Chief and Cortana returned to save humanity from the wrath of the Didact. Happy Birthday, Halo 4!

They don’t but Frank is the one who wrote the terminals, he’s always wanted them to be separate species, and it’s documented he wrote the terminals separately from the rest of Bungie. The fact Didact is a warlord & Librarian is keeping humans like pets suggests they’re different

I still remember the exact moment I completely gave up on 343, and it wasn't long in. I came into Halo 4 with an open mind, the second the Didact came out, and Force Pulled Chief, I put the controller down and never looked back. I knew where it was going, and Halo was dead.

Which is weird because the character difference between H3 Terminal Didact and H4 Didact is so stark it resulted in 343 Lore establishing them as two different characters who are genetically identical for some reason, which couldn’t have been the Terminals’ original intent.

Auto-didact in process…
This is for those that cared . Thank you!

-The Forerunners were given the mantle AND had it taken from them in the ancient past (millions of years before the time of the Didact). Then those Forerunners covered it up to the extent that literally no one knew they ever lost the Mantle. -The Forerunners who waged war on humanity knew none of this, they didn't even learn of the existence of the Flood until the Human-Forerunner war was over. The primary reason for the war was because humanity was glassing planets with Flood infestation, including Forerunner worlds that still had spore-stage infections. The Warrior-Servants had no clue what humanity was doing other than aggressively destroying Forerunners. -By the end of the Flood-Forerunner war, like a dozen Forerunners total know the truth about the Precursors and their relationship to humans and to the Flood, and those are the same Forerunners who survive to mark humanity as the Reclaimers of everything they built. -The concept of digitizing humans was exclusive to the Ur-Didact, only in the final stages of the war, and only after he ran out of Prometheans to compose. He only managed to do it to one human population ever (until 2557).

If an early storyboard is canon, then H5 is about Poncho Chief going off the grid to fight a composed Didact while epically facing Locke, who happens to be in a relationship with Tanaka and leads the fourth memeber of Osiris: Gabriel Thorne.

Show me a storyboard that isn’t a discarded draft from early development stages. Show me a line from the terminals that explicitly mentions Forerunners are uplifted humans. Show me a dialogue from a character that isn’t an unreliable narrator. Only then I’ll admit you are right.

idk. 2 things can be dumb at once. This is assuming that the ones that punished themselves wanted there to be a continuation of their genus but I got the impression that (besides didact) they gave u so they entrusted humanity. They had a plan for them, with the gene editing

He mistakes master chief for the didact as well. Is chief the didact then? Lmao.

Plus the entire Didact, robot Arc didn’t make any sense, and Infinites just seemed to go in a circle. On top of that the Teen rating, lame. Three games worth of circle jerk

I swear I had a lightning bulb moment when you compared Didact/Librarian to Yrro/Pthia

The Didact, despite knowing the nuance of the Human4runner war, described us as "more problematic brethren." Even after we were given the Mantle, our Lifeworkers still doubted we would do any better with it than them. 343 pushed human corruption hard in Postwar to mirror 4runners

I know the comic among the other promo materials didn't suggest it but (only) the didact & librarian terminals seemed to. But, being the odd thing out in side content, it's easy to ignore

I like every weapon in Halo 4 because they all feel useful except for the concussion rifle and the Z-130 outside of five feet. Vehicles die way too quickly, that's a thing. Didact sucks and making players look at stuff outside the game to figure out what's going on was dumb.

Creating a new villain every game then killing them off in a comic book doesn’t help either. Didact wasn’t that great of a villain but it would’ve been better to have kept him on for three games rather than make Cortana the villain then drop her for 6 for the Banished.
