Thank you, Dr. Andrew Mulwa
@andrewmulwa and the
@NASCOP team, for the opportunity to engage in a productive and forward-looking dialogue.
I valued the discussions on the last mile and the imperative to do business unusual. Being deliberate and strategic is essential to achieve full integration of services and systems at the primary health care level, in line with Universal Health Coverage. We explored sustainability priorities, Global Fund GC8, and the USG–Kenya Government MOU, and reaffirmed
#UNAIDS’ readiness to support implementation planning to strengthen data accountability and advance sustainable health financing through SHA and SHIF and to ensure communities are prioritized and rights-based approaches are adopted.
I also expressed concern about the rising trends in
#MTCT which is currently at 9% and paediatric treatment gaps with only 76% on treatment vs 87% for adults. This reinforces the need to prioritise adolescents and young people by investing in the triple threat. HIV, teenage pregnancy, and sexual and gender-based violence. The evidence is compelling, with a demonstrated return on investment of 1:24.
Finally, sustaining momentum towards the introduction of
#Lenacapavir for HIV prevention is critical.
@UNAIDS remains committed to partnering with
@NASCOP to translate these priorities into measurable impact.
