“Thank You For Your Service* *Now Please Keep Your Injuries Within Budget.” Apparently the solution to veteran healthcare is now: “Have you tried needing less treatment?” Nothing says “we support our veterans” quite like capping allied health services after years of telling them to seek help early, stay functional, and manage chronic injuries properly. Need physio for service-related injuries? Psychology support? OT? Exercise physiology? Cool cool… just make your trauma and damaged joints fit neatly into a budget spreadsheet. Because obviously chronic pain, PTSD, and degenerative conditions are famous for respecting annual limits. The real strategy seems to be: Reduce access Delay treatment Act surprised when conditions worsen Pay more later Efficiency. SECOND ASSAM RIFLES EX-SERVICEMEN ASSOCIATION (ARESA) CONCLAVE HELD AT SHILLONG #AssamRifles proudly conducted the 2nd ARESA Conclave at Shillong, Meghalaya on 09 April 2026, reinforcing its strong bond with veterans. A total of 35 Presidents and Secretaries from ARESA Centres across India participated, with discussions focused on improving coordination, accountability, functionality and welfare of Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen and their dependents. Dehradun, Silchar and Gorakhpur ARESA Centres secured the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively and were awarded rolling trophy and cash prizes. In a first, the “Veteran Achiever Award” was introduced, honouring 16 veterans. ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES ESM RALLY CUM MEDICAL CAMP IN TRIPURA Radhanagar Battalion of #AssamRifles organised an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally cum Medical Camp on 22 February 2026 with the aim of addressing the welfare and grievances of its veterans and their families. A total of 144 attendees, comprising 107 Ex-Servicemen, 12 widows and 25 families, attended the rally and actively participated in the interactive session. The attendees shared their concerns and grievances, primarily related to ECHS facilities, lack of awareness regarding DSP pension accounts, and issues concerning Canteen Cards. Huge thanks to our hosts at BT Group and to Mollie Hatton from the #WED Strategic Leadership Board (SLB) for compering the day. 🔹 We opened with a powerful conversation between Jonathan (Jon) Cole CB OBE (BT), John "JW" Wariner (@CGI_UKNEWS & WED SLB) led by Valerie Wilson (BT).
