the joke was the DeltaWing was originally designed to be the next generation Indycar (instead of the Dallara). When it got rejected, Don Panoz bought the design and brought it to Le Mans/ ALMS/ IMSA

The DeltaWing morphed into the ZEOD and then they went LMP1 racing. If you follow the idea thread if Ben didn't leave, those ideas may have been funded differently

The Japanese went a bit crazy @ the beginning of the last decade. In 2012, they became the 1st ever #LeMans24 entry in the Garage 56 class with their Deltawing. However, its refinement and sophistication proved no match for brute force and the car was simply pushed off the track

I remember seeing a video or picture of another Mirage shot down by Iran.
You could identify it by its single engine deltawing configuration.
This was about 2 weeks ago if memory serves.
They've been active participants for a while now.
