It starts on the first day.
Earlier in my career, I used to think handoff was the last step export assets, share the link, move on. Then a developer opened my file and spent an hour just trying to understand what was going on. Unnamed layers. Detached components. Frames everywhere.
The design looked great. The file was a mess.
That taught me everything.
Now from the very first screen, I name every layer properly, keep components consistent, annotate what isnโt obvious, and structure files like someone else will open them tomorrow because they will.
By the time Iโm done, thereโs nothing to โhand off.โ The dev just opens the file and builds.
Thatโs the goal.
