Früher konnte man sich auf diese Armee verlassen. Und jetzt? Eine einzige Katastrophe. Zehntausende offene Stellen, Personalmangel bis zu 28 %, besonders bei den Unteroffizieren. Die Jugend kommt nicht mehr, die Dropout-Quote nach einem halben Jahr liegt bei fast 25 %. Niemand will dienen – und schon gar nicht kämpfen und sterben.
Die Technik steht an der Wand, die Hälfte ist in der Reparatur, Ersatzteile gibt’s keine. Die versprochenen NATO-Divisionen sind weder jetzt einsatzbereit noch in den nächsten Jahren. Minenjagdboote in die Straße von Hormuz zu schicken – das gilt schon als „Heldentat“.
Disziplin? Welche Disziplin in diesem „inklusiven“ Laden mit Uniform? Bürokratie, Pazifismus und das Fehlen jeglicher Härte haben ganze Arbeit geleistet.
Es ist bitter, das mit anzusehen. Eine Armee ohne Menschen und ohne Willen ist keine Armee – das ist nur Kulisse. Europa tut weiter so, als wäre alles in bester Ordnung. Wacht endlich auf!

Young people have raised concerns over various social ills at the National Youth Parliament, underway in Johannesburg.
The dialogue is being held to commemorate the 1976 Soweto Uprising ahead of Youth Day to mark the same historic event on Tuesday.
Some high schoolers have raised concerns over the high unemployment rate, mental health issues, and the school dropout rate, among other things.
They say these are just some of the issues they are observing in their communities that could affect their future.
Learner 1: “Unemployment is something that scares us as high school learners, with a 60 % rate, our chances are lower.”
Learner 2: “Long-term impacts include limited jobs, lower income, and higher risk of poverty."
