The theme emphasizes that every individual, regardless of skin tone or appearance, deserves respect, equal opportunities, safety, and recognition. It also draws attention to the psychological and social impact of prejudice on people with albinism.
#Albinism is a rare, non-contagious, genetically inherited condition characterized by reduced or absent production of melanin, the pigment responsible for the colour of the skin, hair, and eyes. As a result, people with albinism often have visual impairments and are highly vulnerable to sun damage and skin cancer. The condition occurs in all ethnic groups and in every region of the world.
Despite growing awareness, many individuals with albinism continue to face discrimination, bullying, social exclusion, and, in some regions, even violence due to harmful myths and superstitions. International Albinism Awareness Day serves as a reminder that diversity is a strength and that societies must work towards inclusion, education, healthcare access, and equal human rights for all.

🦉ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் அவையாலும் (UN) உலக அல்பினிசம் அமைப்புகளாலும் பிரகடனப்படுத்தப்பட்டு, 2026 ஜூன் 13 அன்று உலகெங்கும் அனுசரிக்கப்படும் சர்வதேச வெளிறல் விழிப்புணர்வு தினமானது (International Albinism Awareness Day), இந்த ஆண்டில் “Proudly in my skin — celebrating all skin tones” (என் தோலில் பெருமையுடன் — அனைத்து தோல் நிறங்களையும் கொண்டாடுவோம்) என்ற உன்னதமான மையக்கருத்தை (Theme) முன்வைத்து உணர்வுப்பூர்வமாக அரங்கேறி வருகிறது.
மெலனின் குறைபாட்டால் ஏற்படும் வெளிறல் (Albinism) குறித்த சரியான விழிப்புணர்வை உலக மக்களிடையே ஏற்படுத்தவும், அத்தகைய மாற்றுத்திறன் கொண்ட மனிதர்களுக்கான அடிப்படை உரிமைகளை நிலைநாட்டவும் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டுள்ள இத்தினம், முக்கியமாகத் தோல் நிற அடிப்படையிலான பாரபட்சங்கள் (Colour-based discrimination) எப்படி அந்த மக்களின் கௌரவம், பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் மனநலத்தைக் கடுமையாகப் பாதிக்கிறது என்பதை மிக அழுத்தமாக வலியுறுத்துகிறது.
அல்பினிசத்தை வெறும் உடல் தோற்றத்துடன் மட்டுமே சுருக்கிப் பார்க்காமல், அவர்களின் முழு மனித உரிமைகள், கௌரவம் மற்றும் நிஜ வாழ்க்கை அனுபவங்களைச் சமூகம் முழுமையாக அங்கீகரிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே இந்த ஆண்டின் முக்கிய நோக்கமாகும்.

It has been experienced that there is discrimination in the sale of flats, houses, and or plots to Scheduled Caste families in the State of Uttar Pradesh and it is a matter of serious concern for our society and our Constitution.
Every citizen of India deserves equal treatment, equal opportunity, and equal access to housing, irrespective of caste, religion, or social background. Denying a person a home because of their caste is not only morally wrong but also an attack on the principles of equality and social justice enshrined in the Constitution.
I urge the Government of Uttar Pradesh, housing authorities, and regulatory bodies to investigate such allegations, ensure transparency in allotments, and take strict action wherever discrimination is found.
A developed society is not judged by the buildings it constructs, but by the equality and dignity it provides to every citizen.

While belonging to the LGBTQ community can be a source of strength, it also brings unique challenges. For those who identify as LGBTQ , it’s important to recognize how your experience of sexual orientation and gender identity relates to your mental health. For many LGBTQ people, socioeconomic and cultural conditions negatively impact mental health conditions. Many in the LGBTQ community face discrimination, prejudice, denial of civil and human rights, harassment and family rejection, which can lead to new or worsened symptoms, particularly for those with intersecting racial or socioeconomic identities.
Although the full range of LGBTQ identities are not commonly included in large-scale studies of mental health, there is strong evidence from recent research that members of this community are at a higher risk for experiencing mental health conditions — especially depression and anxiety disorders. LGBTQ adults are more than twice as likely as heterosexual adults to experience a mental health condition. Transgender individuals are nearly four times as likely as cisgender individuals (people whose gender identity corresponds with their birth sex) individuals to experience a mental health condition.
LGBTQ youth also experience greater risk for mental health conditions and suicidality. LGBTQ youth are more than twice as likely to report experiencing persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness than their heterosexual peers. Transgender youth face further disparities as they are twice as likely to experience depressive symptoms, seriously consider suicide, and attempt suicide compared to cisgender lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer and questioning youth.
Positive changes in societal acceptance of LGBTQ people act as a protective factor for mental health.
