*“Arrive Alive” Road Safety Week as part of Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika – District SP Sharath Chandra Pawar, IPS*
As part of the *“Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika”* initiative, special *“Arrive Alive”* Road Safety Week programmes will be conducted across Nalgonda district from 13-04-2026 to 18-04-2026 for a duration of one week, informed District SP Sharath Chandra Pawar, IPS.
The District SP, who conducted a video conference with district police officials regarding the implementation of these programmes, directed that all departments, public representatives, students, drivers’ associations, and voluntary organizations should coordinate to successfully organize these activities. The primary objective is to prevent road accidents, enforce traffic rules, and enhance public awareness on road safety.
During the week, road safety committees will be formed in villages, accident-prone road issues and blind spots will be identified, and measures such as installation of zebra crossings and warning signboards will be undertaken. Awareness programmes will also be conducted in schools to educate students on road safety, along with campaigns promoting helmet and seatbelt usage.
Additionally, special inspections will be carried out for auto, bus, taxi, and school bus drivers. Eye tests for drivers, verification of driving licenses, and vehicle document checks will also be conducted. Training programmes on the “Golden Hour” emergency response during road accidents will be organized, and awareness on first aid will be provided to police personnel, ambulance drivers, and volunteers.
The District SP appealed to the public, students, drivers, and voluntary organizations to actively participate in the “Arrive Alive” Road Safety Week programmes and follow road safety rules to help prevent accidents.
