Man impersonates #IAS officer for seven years in #Jharkhand, arrested In a startling case of impersonation, a 35-year-old man in #Jharkhand lived for nearly seven years posing as an IAS officer he never was. Driven by an unfulfilled ambition to clear the Civil Services Examination and meet his father’s expectations, he chose deception over disclosure, investigators said. The man, who introduced himself as Rajesh Kumar, claimed to be a 2014-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre. His story began to unravel when he approached the police in Palamu in connection with a land dispute. Discrepancies in his statements prompted officials to verify his credentials. During questioning, he went a step further, claiming to belong to a service called “IPTAFS,” which he described as equivalent to the IAS. Police checks, however, confirmed that no such service or officer existed. Investigators found that he had been using forged identity documents, moving in a blue government vehicle and presenting fake credentials to support his claims. Under interrogation, the man admitted that he had appeared for the UPSC examination four times. He cleared the preliminary stage once but failed to make it to the final selection list. Unable to accept the outcome, he continued the false identity for years, authorities said. He has since been taken into custody and booked under relevant legal provisions. झारखंड: पलामू जिले की हुसैनाबाद पुलिस ने शातिर जालसाज को गिरफ्तार किया है. वह पिछले करीब सात सालों से खुद को आईएएस (IAS) और आईपीटीएएफएस (IPTAFS) अधिकारी बताकर लोगों को गुमराह कर रहा था. इस मामले का खुलासा तब हुआ जब हैदरनगर थाना क्षेत्र के कुकही निवासी राजेश कुमार एक जमीन विवाद की पैरवी के लिए हुसैनाबाद थाना प्रभारी से मिलने पहुंचे. वहां उसने खुद को 2014 बैच का ओडिशा कैडर का आईएएस अधिकारी और वर्तमान में भुवनेश्वर में सीएओ के पद पर तैनात बताया. अपने पिता और समाज की नजरों में खुद को सफल दिखाने के लिए उसने फर्जी अधिकारी बनने का नाटक शुरू किया. पुलिस ने उसके पास से एक फर्जी चाणक्य आईएएस एकेडमी का आईडी कार्ड और एक हुंडई एरा कार (JH01Z-4884) बरामद की है, जिस पर फर्जी नेमबोर्ड लगा हुआ है. #Jharkhand | #Crime

A one-week special capsule course and exposure visit for Assistant Accounts Officers (AAOs) of the Department of Posts & Telecom was inaugurated yesterday at MDRAFM, Bhubaneswar.
