The recent inauguration of the RavetKiwale Road has stirred up controversy due to the incomplete construction of the Dharmaraj Maharaj flyover along this route. The bridge was hastily opened despite partial completion of the bridge and this has raised concerns among citizens. Deputy chief minister and Pune’s guardian minister Ajit Pawar presided over the inauguration ceremony, where the administration touted the completion of the long-stalled Nigdi to Ravet Road project. However, when Pune Times Mirror visited the road, it found out that several crucial safety features were lacking. The protective netting on the bridge deck as well as barricades for pedestrian safety were yet to be installed.
Signposts, essential for guiding motorists, were also notably absent. This oversight has sparked fears over the safety of commuters and pedestrians utilising the partially constructed bridge. However, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) officials are claiming the work of the bridge is complete
