Hey, Fairbanks! We have an update on the Richardson Highway MP 351 Interchange Project!ย
ย
Now that the eye-catching girders are in place, weโre moving into the next phase: pouring concrete to tie them all together. This step might not be as flashy, but itโs critical for safety and long-term support.
ย
What you might notice from the road:
โขInstallation of bridge rail/barriers - those green bars sticking out of the girders will soon be encased in concrete to form these protective features.
โขProgress on the MSE wall - weโre adding the coping (top strip of concrete), which is a slow and meticulous process requiring many hours of skilled labor.ย
๐ฃ๏ธ As for the highway itself, major visible changes will come later once the bridge structure is further along.
ย
Thanks for your patience as we build a safer, stronger roadway - one step at a time! Please continue to follow construction sign messaging to allow for all parties to stay safe.ย
