The restoration of a community feeder canal in *Adipudi (V) of Karamchedu (M), Bapatla district* stands as a notable example of the programme's impact. With the canal being revived after years of neglect & silt accumulation, farmers in the area are looking forward to improved irrigation prospects. * Farmers & villagers have come together to restore the feeder canal stretching from *Y. Lakshma Reddy's field to Kappalavagu*. Desilting & rehabilitation works are progressing rapidly through coordination between the Govt. & farmer cooperative groups. Special efforts are being made to ensure irrigation water reaches lands located at the tail-end of the canal system. Fields that remained uncultivated for years due to water scarcity are now expected to return to cultivation. * Through the *Jaladhara–Jalaharathi* programme, the rejuvenated canal is expected to carry water to downstream agricultural lands during the rainy season. दिनांक 06.06.2026 को मुख्य विकास अधिकारी द्वारा तहसील राजापुर के विकास खंड पहाड़ी अंतर्गत निर्मित गढ़ोली बंधी-1 में चल रहे पुनर्स्थापना कार्यों का स्थलीय निरीक्षण किया गया। विकास खंड पहाड़ी में सिंचाई विभाग द्वारा गढ़ोली बंधी-1, गढ़ोली बंधी-2 एवं सुरसेन बंधी सहित कुल तीन बंधियों के पुनर्स्थापना कार्य कराए जा रहे हैं। निरीक्षण के दौरान कार्यदायी संस्था सिंचाई विभाग के सहायक अभियंता एवं अवर अभियंता उपस्थित रहे। इन बंधियों में मानसून अवधि के दौरान जल भंडारण होने से रबी फसलों की सिंचाई क्षमता में वृद्धि होगी तथा लगभग 287.20 हेक्टेयर अतिरिक्त क्षेत्र सिंचाई सुविधा से लाभान्वित होगा। परियोजना पूर्ण होने के उपरांत गढ़ोली, मिर्जापुर, औदहा, रैपुरवा, हकीमपुर एवं सुरसेन ग्रामों के किसानों को सिंचाई हेतु पर्याप्त जल उपलब्ध होगा। साथ ही पशु-पक्षियों के लिए जल की व्यवस्था सुदृढ़ होगी तथा क्षेत्र में भू-जल स्तर के पुनर्भरण (Groundwater Recharge) को भी बढ़ावा मिलेगा। निरीक्षण के दौरान संबंधित अधिकारियों को निर्देशित किया गया कि समस्त कार्य निर्धारित गुणवत्ता मानकों के अनुरूप एवं समयबद्ध रूप से पूर्ण किए जाएं, ताकि क्षेत्रवासियों को परियोजना का लाभ शीघ्र प्राप्त हो सके। #Chitrakoot #WaterConservation #IrrigationDevelopment #RuralDevelopment #WaterSecurity #SustainableAgriculture #GroundwaterRecharge #FarmerWelfare #ViksitBharat

I joined Telangana Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Revanth Reddy in reviewing key irrigation initiatives in the Palamuru region, including the Makthal–Narayanpet–Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme, Koilsagar Project and the proposed barrages on the Krishna and Bhima rivers. The aerial survey and on-site inspections mark an important step in the ongoing cooperation between Karnataka and Telangana on inter-state water management. Following the constructive discussions held between the two states on May 25, we are committed to exploring sustainable solutions that enhance water availability, strengthen groundwater recharge, and support the long-term interests of farmers and citizens on both sides of the border. During the review, we discussed the proposed barrage downstream of the Narayanpur Reservoir (Basavasagar), which aims to utilize the reservoir spillway for drinking water supply, groundwater recharge, and irrigation. The proposed Krishna and Bhima barrages can be a game-changer for the drought-prone districts of Raichur and Yadgir, improving drinking water availability, supporting farmers, and strengthening water security for the region. Water is a shared resource, and cooperative federalism is the way forward.
